“I feel like the defense is in a groove and we have to practice hard all week to keep that up. The reason we’re in such a groove is the way we practice, the way that we prepare on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.”

Marshall has allowed fewer than 5.0 yards per play in four of five games. MU is 4-0 when the defense keeps the opposition below that number, and 0-1 when it does not. In the past three games, the Herd defense has become even more stingy. Kent State managed 259 yards on 61 plays; Cincinnati gained 349 yards on 71 plays; Charlotte’s offense only managed 52 plays and barely cracked 200 yards of total offense (212).

  • A famous investment guru once said "don't confuse brains with a bull market".  In same vein, we have played some putrid offenses.  However, you have to be encouraged by defenses ability to stop run so far. And with Young back I expect the D to only get better as season moved forward.  ODU's offense is nothing great but at least they have a pulse.  We shut down their running game today and it should be blowout city.
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS
