Well, we still get beat ridiculously inside by other teams' offenses. Starts out front, where, despite offensive abilities, many of our guards get beat by their counterparts who get by them on first step straight into the lane, and on to the hole. Lack of quickness by our bigs, except for Taylor, who can't defend everybody and is already foul prone, or marked by the refs. Of course, getting Thompson back would/will help greatly in that area. But in these close games, we can't give up such a disparity of points allowed in the paint. How many times, tonight and in other losses, did Steve Cotton describe some opponent player taking the ball from out front all the way to the goal for a lay-up, dunk, etc., etc.
Good news, nothing ahead but CUSA teams!! Which means many times we'll be playing teams WITH BARELY A PULSE. 18 CONFERENCE GAMES- -15 WINS OR SO SHOULD GET US INTO POST SEASON CONSIDERATION IF WE MAKE A DEEP RUN IN CONF. TOURNEY. GO HERD!!
