  • A couple of points about the wonderful new stadium:

Sorry to say that the scoreboard is way too small.  Can't read the box score, or balls, strikes or outs.

The PA System is excellent but WAY TOO LOUD!
Turn it down please or start issuing earplugs to the fans.

Besides that everything else seems fine.

  • Hate to hear this all, you'd think that these scoreboard issues would have been prevented, size/distance recommendations are/should be a part of every scoreboard.  Looks like someone errored, perhaps it is temporary and was the last expenditure...took what we could get until more appropriations could be made.

  • Agreed on the scoreboard - tough to read from the seats.
I disagree on the sound system. Thought it sounded fine and Westfall did a good job with public address.

Unfortunately, I am unable to make it to the game today but I cannot wait to be back at the Jack.

  • At the second game....

Press box plays the "Charge" bugle when Manhattan is at bat.

Should be played when the Herd is at bat to give "US" the offensive "juice."

  • What's the other giant scoreboard in center field that's off? I agree the other one is too small. Hard to see.

    1st game was great, IMO.

I won the 3rd base auction from the game used 1st inning bases!

  • Herd could not overcome a 5-0 deficit and lost 5-4 today.

That's not a scoreboard. It's a black backdrop for hitters to see the pitch. All ballparks have them.

Where was the auction for this? I didn't see anything on HerdZone, where the auctions usually are.

They call it the batter's eye.  And yes the scoreboard should be at least the size of the batter's eye imo.

  • Where was the auction for this? I didn't see anything on HerdZone, where the auctions usually are.

It was in-game for the inaugural game.

They took up the bases after the 1st inning, and put down new ones.

They auctioned 1st, 2nd, 3rd base, plus Team batters helmet signed by entire team.
The bases ended up going for 1100-1500. The helmet went for 2800.

They closed the bidding at the end of the 7th.

I had to have one. It was the very first inning, and was part of the first pitch home run.
Hopefully I can get Hondras to sign it.

The girl did tell me the other bases they used after would end up being auctioned online at a later date. So you can probably end up with one of those.

But I had to have the original!

  • The guy in front of me, his son got the HR ball. He gave it back to the team to go into the HOF.

That's good to know. I was wondering where that ball ended up.

Not a giant scoreboard. simply a black wall so the hitter can pick up the baseball.
