Going back to the 50s and 60s, southern and southeast Ohio were normal recruiting grounds for Herd football. MU had coaches assigned all the way up to the Eastern Ohio area across from the WV Northern Panhandle all the way down along the Ohio River. Then, too, the Greater Cincy area. Over the years, I believe the Central Ohio area, all around Columbus, although very competitive, has become an area MU would look to for possible recruits. Over the years, I don't we put that much emphasis on Northeast Ohio, say from Cleveland over to Akron, Canton, etc.
