Myers paced the Blue Devils with 21 points and five rebounds and Brooks-Harris added 17 points and 13 boards for a double-double.

Good news is that next year we should be in a position to be able to RS both him and Dillon. If we can start redshirting most of our recruits (which I think is the long term plan) then we will see another jump in wins in around 4-5 years imo. I know we wanted to RS Penava and George but just couldn't do it. Imagine if Penava is just a SO right now.

Most recently Danny told us he did plan to RS him, but not Dillon.

things change. i predicted for George to not redshirt this year....and was disagreed with. We see where he is now. I know some say he will RS next year, I'm going to say no he won't, right now.
With graduate transfer rules, I'm not sure redshirting is all that....if he can't play and won't help you then fine red shirt him, but if he can help now I would play him, otherwise if they develop you risk watching them transfer to a Power conference in four years with a year of eligibility left.
I could see this kid red shirting, but I think some of it may depend on how some guys develop and progress this year like Bledsoe and Thineman

I agree george will never rs. But i sure wish peneva had. He would just be a soph. Ow...WOW!!!!!

I don't disagree with that, I said that to my son not long ago, but we would still run the risk of a 5th grad transfer.
It would have been nice to have Peneva with Bennett for two years for sure

-
Marshall got a steal with cam and george because of them being thin. Dd told me george will develope into an acc type player. And i have been told cam is even more skilled than george at this point. Dd also told me 2 years ago that peneva would develope into a phenomanal player and we are seeing that before our eyes with almost 2 years left in his career. I dont doubt dd about george and cam the way he developes players.
-
Cam is just a baby. I agree, I think we got a steal because he looks young for the class and is thin. Getting to RS him for a year is going to be huge. I'm loving the type of recruits that DD is now getting.
-
I agree 129. And corny is going to help a lot with recruiting. He is tireless and never stops looking.

He was the team's second-leading scorer behind the Marshall-bound Brooks-Harris, who had a game-high 20 that included a 10-of-10 effort at the free-throw line. Curry scored on three of Zanesville's first four possessions, all of which came off assists.

He followed it up with a 17 point 13 rebound performance when his team only scored I believe 47 points

I love how danny is going about recruiting now in the front court. Long athletic, with skill and can run. The length, speed and atletisism is getting better every year.

Agreed. Recruiting has been a bit of a learning curve but that was to be expected. I think things are definitely headed in the right direction. I've never been this pumped for Marshall basketball.

It seems like Corny is becoming one of the main recruiters on Dan’s staff. I believe he put DD onto Cam.

Corny is becoming a HUGE help in recruiting. He is very driven in that area. He was a tremendous hire for us.

Correct. He is a tireless worker on and off the court and is absolutely thrilled to be here. He is a a positive influence on our kids and unless something happens, he will be our head coach in 5 years!

That is what ive heard also. And it didnt come from a friend of a friend.

I love hearing that on several levels.
First, while there does seem to be a contingent on the board that is opposed to hiring former Herd greats. I’m not one of those people, I think hiring former Herd players is preferable, all other factors being equal. I loved Corny as a player and am over joyed to see back on the Marshall sideline.
Second, the only way such a plan is going to work is if things are succeeding. If DD’s coaching is succeeding and he wants to go, it’s a sign of success that he would be able to name his successor. If Herd BB hasn’t grown and gotten better, we will be looking for a different way to go. At this point I’m very happy with where things are and where we seem to be going.
-
Recruiting, player development, and positive player relationships between coach and team can get a team to the top!

However good he is, and we do not know, that would be a ludicrous move. While it makes the bball group who attend practice feel important, it DD is suggesting such a thing publicly it would be a highly unprofessional move.
-
Who said DD? Nobody has said that.

'
Either some of you can't read or just make shyte up? First nobody said that. And second, why the slap about feeling important? Some go to practice and try and give updates that we think people would want to hear. I know for a fact I would if I lived out of town or couldn't go. It's like there are just a few angry people on here that twists things so they can bitch.
-
If you think I am angry you have no clue, too, don't come on here being smug implying you are privy to information only people in the know are privileged to have.

Nothing is guaranteed in life. But I think anyone that can put 2+2 together and keeps their ears open, can figure things out. Like someone said....if for some reason DD didn't get this thing rolling in a big way and for some reason things fell apart, nobody on this staff would get a look. But at the same time if things happen like most everyone expects, it is pretty obvious they are going to promote within and keep the system going. There are many avenues to get to a conclusion without singling out one person. And i'm not going to get on here and give out names. But it's a pretty safe bet that he will be our coach one day if the program is doing as most are expecting.

I LOVE the practice reports and most of what's been reported at practice has turned out to be true.

I'm glad you like what we are telling you. Danny is VERY public and tells all of us everything we ask and many things we don't. None of us are "special". We are just fortunate enough to be able to attend practice. Danny would be very happy is the Cam had a capacity crowd in attendance at practice.
As for reports, I for one, won't be giving you much info in December. With finals and school out of session, most practices this month are earlier in the day and I can't make them.

I enjoy the reports , I have only been able to go to a couple of practices this year. People should go and watch , he does a lot more teaching than any other coach we've had . Some people really don't care for DD and it shows in their posts , over and over .

Agree about the teaching aspect. I guess it's all those years of HS teaching/coaching. If he sees the slightest mistake, he will spend as much correcting a walk on that will not be on the floor 5 mins this year as he would Jon Elmore

I agree and can't figure out why anyone wouldn't like DD. Myself along with Herdmeister, TRS and a few others have truly tried to give people an idea of what we are seeing. As coachskip was also saying, his practices are amazing for detail. And like Herdmeister said, he will stop practice to teach a walk-on just as fast as he will a scholarship player. DD doesn't see those guys any differently (Loop is a good example). I also think it took a learning curve for DD in recruiting. He had never been at the college level and had to figure out the talent level along with basically losing a year being hired so late. He had a couple hits and misses that first couple years and still improved every year. He seems to have figure all of that out now and it is showing with the kids he is signing. The front court is very young (I know we don't want to hear that) but that is going to flip next year and beyond and will be one of the strongest areas we have probably ever had here at Marshall. We have never had much size, talent and depth in the front court at Marshall being a midmajor. That is about to change. But my goodness he is putting an exciting brand of basketball on the floor and is passionate about being here at Marshall. He probably wants this for Marshall more than any of us fans. The guy truly bleeds green. Support this team and watch them grow over the next couple years. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
-
Imagine one scenario of our front court next year: Iran, Penava, and Darius. And back court with Jon and Burks.
That has the making of one hell of a starting five.

And a bench of Watson, West, Williams, Cook just to name a few. That is what I have been saying all along. Nobody is more impatient than me because I have been waiting for 30 years to get back. But a year of experience for Williams and George and another year in the weight room for those 2 along with Peneva to go along with 2 6'10" 300 and 250 lb players will give us something , I argue, we have never had here. And we may be adding another 6'9" Juco that is very athletic and can play. And hopefully all the guards back.

Well obviously I hope he does like everyone. But that will be Jon's decision. If he thinks he can get in the league, he may go. I don't think anyone knows for sure at this point. Just crossing my fingers. I think we can still be very good next year without him, because of depth and our front court being so strong. But if he comes back, we could be scary good. Sorry I don't have better answer.

I love Jon Elmore. He might be my favorite Marshall player since Mike D. But if he doesn't get his 3pt FG percentage up he has absolutely no chance of getting a sniff at the NBA. He is at 26% this year. He was at 35% his first two years and honestly an NBA GM is going to want him to be higher than that. The NBA league average 3 pt percentage is 35% and 6'3" guards that don't play elite defense need to be higher than that. I would worry more about losing him as a graduate transfer, but I'm relying on Herdmeister's comments that he won't leave for another school.
I also think that if he were on a team with a better inside presence (like maybe next year's team) his 3 pt FG percentage will naturally go up.

I actually agree with all that. But Jon is just going thru a outside slump right now. He is a much better outside shooter than what he is showing. I really think he is forcing his outside shot much of the time. He is very good at fall aways and jump back type shots. But those are also much harder to make. He needs to settle in and just shoot more squared up 3's IMO until his shot comes back. And he is still scoring 20-30 a game. He is so good at getting to the FT line and that is what makes him so tough.
-
While we have season tickets, I still want to push/promote (with no request from the Athletic Department) the use of C-USA TV for those who can't make it to the games. For $100 per year, you get a lot of MU athletic team viewing. I'll admit I was very disappointed in the Mark Martin / Bob Bolen team as broadcasters when the season started. But they've improved (candidly) more than the team itself has.
Remember, you don't just get to see the game, you get the feel and a bit of ambiance of being there in the CAM with others.
Here's a thought for the athletic department, give those who join the C-USA TV family of Herd Fans the choice to direct their subscription fees to the team of their choice. This would make those signing up feel more like contributing than buying.
-
Elmore is not even close to an NBA player yet. If he leaves he is crazy.
He needs another year in the weight room, and another year of working on his outside shot. In addition to this, he has a lot of WTF type of turnovers every single game.
I think him coming back stronger, improved outside game, and a much better team could be enough to get him a shot.

Good point Luke. I wish I wasn't so lazy as to not look up Burks' and West's 3 PT FG% but let me go out on a limb here and say Burks' 3 PT % isn't very high either. I have seen most of every game and exhibition except one. I had thought Burks was "money" out to 22 feet, but so far he has struggled beyond about 15-17 feet ! Tell me I am mistaken. Sure he has made a lot of long shots, I'm just talking about percentages. Burks is a scorer, how can I criticize his game ? But I am, IMO most of the time he needs to slash to the hoop or use that little floater he is so good with.
I don't know what the solution is. Let those 2 keep shooting long shots to try to get into rhythm and open up the inside for others ? Or the logical conclusion i.e. limit the length of most of the shots taken.
West - I love his game. He is under control 95% of the time. He takes 3 PTR's when he is open and uses a high arc to maximize the chance the shot will go in. I can't believe how well of an understanding of the game he has a freshman. It is not easy to play well at this level at 5'10" or 5'11".
My thoughts.

Let's be clear, I don't want CJ or Jon to quit shooting 3s. Jon and CJ are both shooting below their respective career 3pt averages so far this year. But I think a lot of that has to do with playing with new guys and I expect them to get more comfortable as the year goes on. Occasionally they rush the shot up before I think its necessary, but generally if they can shoot 35% from 3 - which is about the career average for both of them that is better than shooting 50% from 2. More importantly (especially for Jon) when other teams get up on him to guard the 3 he goes around them and takes it to the hole or runs a pick an roll or draws a foul, that is the bread and butter of our offense. All I was saying is that Jon is going to have to prove he is a better shooter to ever get an opportunity to make it in the NBA, because those guys can fill it up.

Nobody indicated they want Elmore and Burks to quit shooting 3's. What I have been harping about is shot selection, i.e. it is more than "occasional" they are shooting from 24, 25, 26+ feet away. In my book the only justification for that is beating the shot/game clock. It shows a disrespect for the skills of your teammates.
We are roughly 1/3 of the way into the regular season, and I can tell you they aren't going to get to 35% 3-PT FG% unless they are close to 40% the rest of the way. Probably not going to happen. I think many on our team can hit close to 40% from the corner. Why not concentrate on getting shots like those.
I like Burks' scoring mentality, every team needs that, he had missed 3 or 4 in a row and came down and took a shot which he made. But at some point a guy has to realize he his hurting his team if he doesn't play soundly, within his own game.
Marshall is 16th in scoring per game at 88.9 PPG but only 58th in offensive efficiency with 1.087 points per possession.

35 pts and 15 boards wow!!!! Cam is gonna be a good one teamed up with george in the future.

Be nice to have something on the board , that stays on the front page , about how the bball commits are doing this season. Just updates on games and things .
-
Last night his team scored 81 points. That is VERY rare for this coach. They tend not to play high scoring games. Usually 50's-60's. Don't be disappointed to see him average mid teens in points. You may remember it was the same when Travis Young came here playing for the same coach. Travis certainly showed, even though his HS numbers weren't staggering, he could play at the next level with The Herd
-
Jeremy Dillon begins his season on 12/12 against Scott.
Don't forget, Dillon played football pretty deep in the playoffs so he didn't have the benefit of a full season of BB practice. Believe he scored more and led the Miners in last night's game in which they suffered a 20+ point loss. Jeremy is probably still a week or two away from being in top basketball playing shape, IMO.

Mingo Central beat Sissonville 61-57 this past Saturday. Dillon led his team with 15 points.
Also, MC beat Logan last night 51-50! I don't have the stats yet for this game, but Mingo Central is short-handed with two players out with injury and the head coach battling the flu.

Dillon was able to distribute the ball on several nice passes for easy hoops. Mingo's team ball and unselfishness was one of the differences in the game.
"They wanted it more than us," Logan second-year coach Zach Green said. "Jeremy Dillon completely took over. They were getting three or four offensive rebounds at a time. We you have a player like that and you don't stop him they are going to be hard to beat. He's a great passer, great shooter, great scorer. He single-handedly beat us."

David Early and Dillon scramble for the ball. Two future Marshall basketball players going at. Early was offered a scholarship by Marshall.
Early led Logan with 26 points.
-
Brooks-Harris added 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and four blocks for the Blue Devils. Scoring 15 points in the first half, including a powerful slam on a Newark defender, Brooks-Harris would be limited to zero field goals in the second half. Despite his offensive struggles in the last 16 minutes, Brooks-Harris played an excellent game defensively, blocking two Shumate jump shots and showing an elite ability to defend on the wing.

I wouldn't count on Early being at Marshall. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave Logan for a prep school soon.
-
Unless we really make a run in the NCAA tourney next year, I don't see us landing Early. He also got an offer from WVU as a 9th grader and we all know how that usually turns out. He won't lack high major offers. He's going to be tough to land. If we can get Killen out of Chapmanville out of that class, that will be a feat in itself. Basketball is getting much better in the WV and recruiters are noticing. We need to take a big step forward next year and make the tourney a reality for these 304 boys to have a shot to snag them from the high majors.

Boys basketball: Gahanna offense too much for Zanesville
The loss overshadowed another strong all-around effort from the 6-7 Brooks-Harris, who scored a game-high 24 points, grabbed 10 of his team's 24 rebounds, handed out three assists and blocked three shots.
He made an determined effort to operate more in the post against the Lions, something Aronhalt said needs to continue. He was 10-of-16 from the field against the Lions.

I'm glad we signed him early.

Friday night, Mingo Central beat Poca by about 20 to go 4-1 on the season. Jeremy Dillon lead the Miners with 21 points. MC has had some injuries thus far in the season and I believe that they still have one regular who is out for a while. From people I know who cover BB in that area, Logan-Mingo, etc., Chapmanville appears the team to beat in AA ball in that region. Guess the Fairmont Sr. team, with the big Stills kid who signed with WVU in football, is the AA strong boy in that part of the state. Agree with the statement that state HS basketball has been improving in recent years.
-
Thanks for the update coalherd. Poca Dots aren’t the same team without Luke Frampton.
Dillon pretty much runs the show for Mingo Central with scoring, rebounding and assists.
-
I think MC’s next game is at Herbert Hoover on 1/5/2018.

Buffalo Bop. Do you know Frampton's status at Davidson? I was on their site recently and he is listed on the roster this season but has no stats. Figure he may be taking a red shirt this season. Do you know if Cuffee is playing at Liberty this year?

Frampton tore his ACL and is redshirting

Coalherd mentioned that Chapmanville appears to be the AA team to beat in the area, and he's right. I found this update on Tigers in the Charleston-Gazette:
Tale of the Tigers: Title
Chapmanville made waves last winter by advancing all the way to the Class AA state championship game before falling prey to a Fairmont Senior rally. The Tigers have proven so far that they’re capable of making it back to the Charleston Civic Center and taking it one step farther.
They returned from the King of the Smokies Tournament in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, over the weekend with a 7-1 record record and are building a reputation for playing at a high level, even early in the season, averaging 77.4 points per game.
“I think this year, we’re better than last year,’’ said senior guard Drew Williamson, a returning first-team all-stater and the team’s top scorer. “Obviously, we’re faster.
“This year, our goal is to get back to the state championship game, and we want to win it. Last year, we were excited to get there as a team. But this year, we want to win it.’’
Chapmanville coach Brad Napier thinks a repeat of last year’s postseason run is entirely possible behind players like Williamson, 6-foot-9 Obinna Anochili-Killen and speedy guard Dylan Smith.
“Our goal every year is to win our last game,’’ Napier said. “And if you win your last game, you’ve had a good year. That’s been our goal since I’ve been the coach here, and that’s the same this year.
“I think we’ve got a good group of guys, and as long as they continue to play unselfish and play their roles and play with energy and effort, we’ll have a good year, I think.’’
Poca coach Derek Ragle, whose team fell to the Tigers 86-41 to begin the season, thinks they’ve actually gotten better.
“They are better,’’ Ragle said. “Obinna’s better and they’ve got more depth. They added two kids from Scott — [Jordan] Kish and [Brandon] Elkins, and it really helps their depth. They’ve got great length. The [Devin] Collins kid has shot up to 6-4, and they’ve got four really, really good shooters around Obinna.
“So they can spread you out and if you fan out to the arc to guard the shooters, they’ll dump it in. If you sag, they’re gonna shoot from the outside. They’re a complete team, and they’re really good. For someone to beat them, it going to take a really good effort.’’

I believe Dan has offered a scholarship to 6-foot-9 Obinna Anochili-Killen who I think is only a sophomore. :o

Cuffee is playing about 20 mins a game and averaging 5 ppg

And to add what Luke80 mentioned, Frampton is rehabbing from knee surgery. He’s a tough young man, and he’ll bounce back. Best of luck to him.

It’s good we signed Brooks early, because he’s killing it now.

makes you think that down the road we will have bookend small fwds in he and George with serious game...West at point and Bennett, Williams and Dillon. Maybe a handful but that's just speculation at this point. Still I am excited to experience that.

George and Brooks-harris are going to be freakish good in the future. Like you said Bennett, Williams, Dillon and West. All 6 of those guys are long term guys and i'm sure we will have more to add to that talent. We need to land one more really good PG in the next class and we are set for years just adding one here and there.

hopefully Brooks is like Kevin Martin who is from Zanesville and recently complete a nice long NBA career. Martin was long and lean and only had a walk on offer from wvu and scholly to wcu. went to wcu and blossomed as a scorer and put in a decade or so in the League.

I almost feel like I should be adding Van Horn to this thread.
BTW, Van Horn paces Fairland's 69-48 win vs. Portsmouth
Van Horn, a 6-foot-8 center, was dominant, making 9 of 13 shots, dominating the boards and playing intimidating, shot-altering defense. Van Horn hit jumpers from the outside, scored near the block, drove to the basket and at 2:55 of the first quarter sailed through the lane for a dunk that charged up the crowd.
"He keeps getting better," Speed said of Van Horn. "He has his confidence going and he's comfortable anywhere on the floor."

Bop, did not know about the Van Horn kid! Thanks!! A local and sounds a lot like that he is not your "average" run of mill walk on. At 6'8" he certainly has size. Potential to develop and with a lot of people leaving after next season, sounds like he could work his way into winning a scholarship!!

Danny is somewhat concerned about his lack of mobility. But, we had success with Loop who was similarly slow.
If he has any type of shot at all, Danny and Mark will develop it

I agree with DDs concern , he plays a little stiff . I think if he gets in better shape it might help him . Hes not that out of shape now but college ball shape and HS shape are two completely different things.
-
Van Horn played extremely well in the Flying to the Hoop Classic in Dayton, one of the two best high school tournaments in the nation. He scored 31 against Lebron's high school in Akron and No1 in the state. Would love to have him walk on at MU but feel sure he will have scholarship offers before the season ends.

Dillon scored 14 points in a loss at Chapmanville who are one of the top teams in the state regardless of classification.
-
Van Horn looks like he can board and has the frame to be effective in many scenarios. There is also the chance that he grows another inch or two. Another big body that could contribute in practice and games vs right opponents. Certainly has upside IMO. Might play a little stiff but he doesn't have concrete feet like, for example, Taco Fall at UCF...which should mean he can become more flexible with training.
-
Van Horn is also a pretty good shot blocker too. In a game last night against Chesapeake, he blocked eight shots and altered many others.

From his pic in the H-D article, you can tell he’s no stranger in the weight room.

The Dragons (18-3), the sixth-ranked team in Ohio Division II, took advantage of a meltdown by Waverly to pull away for a 67-52 victory Saturday in the Beasts of the Southeast boys high school basketball showcase at Norm Persin Court.
aiah Howell led Fairland with 21 points. Kollin Van Horn scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots. Ty Wilcoxon came off the bench to score 11 points and snag seven rebounds.

We've heard about Brook-Harris red shirting next season.....why not Dillon also? Especially when you consider we will be 9 deep. Not many minutes available. Seems either Dillon or George should RS.
Perimeters- Elmore, Burks, West, Watson, George
Bigs- Penava, Bennett, Williams, Cook

The more informed could tell me if I'm wrong, but I believe Dillon will play because he is physically ready. He will get some minutes and experience so we have an extra guard with game time experience the year after. Brook-Harris will for sure RS and I believe George might also, unless he manages to really bulk up this summer. I believe DD RSs more for body development, rather than skill development.

I think you are right about Dillion. Since we are losing 3 Guards after next season it probably makes sense for DD to get Dillon some PT next season to be ready to contribute more the following year. Needs to be some ready-to-go Guards to replace Elmore, Burks, Watson when the time comes. Unless DD wants to go 10 deep looks like George may be RSing next season to get bigger/stronger.

That kid looks ready to play physically. I think he is going to be another of Danny's WV dandies!!!!
-
I hope no one interprets this as questioning a recruit, but if Dillon is going to have a issue it’s more likely to be whether he can play fast enough, not whether he is physical enough. Most of the guys on the end of our bench are there because they cannot play fast enough. It’s going to be a huge jump in game speed from WV AA ball to D1.

He is much faster than Loop. And from all I hear he just knows how to play the game of basketball. They say he makes the game look simple and will be even better around more skilled players.
-
I hope you and your sources are right Herdorbust. I hope Jeremy is the second coming of Jimmy Chitwood. But I am going to be a little skeptical until I see it and I don't have much expectation that he will be ready to help next year. Here are my concerns (1) he is playing AA ball in WV and most of the teams he is playing against are simply not that good. 2. Because of the time he spent on football he hasn't played much AAU (if any). 3. His high school team does not appear to be very talented. In short, he hasn't had much opportunity to go up against college level players either in games or in practice. If he can come in and contribute next year it will be because he truly is a basketball savant. Also comparing someone to Loop doesn't really mean much to me until the kid proves he can shoot 40% from 3 with a quick release, because that was the only reason Austin ever saw the floor. Frankly, Austin would have trouble playing on this team because we are playing much faster (particularly on the defensive end) than we have been over the previous three years.
-
Well our 2 best players are guards and played in little ole wv. And dont say they played AAA because there isnt that much different. I think jon and cj proves that wv can put out some great players.
-
I understand that and I fully am on board with the WV kid thing. I am not saying Jeremy cannot eventually be a great player. I'm just doubting that he will be ready to contribute much next year. If you look at my points you will see big differences between Jon and CJ and Jeremy. 1 Those two did not play high school football which takes up a lot of time. 2. They both played AAU ball. Jon played a boatload of AAU ball. 3. They both sat out their freshman season and spent that time competing with college level players.
-
West seems to be doing well.
-
He also played a boatload of AAU ball and did not play HS football.
-
West did play high school ball.
-
I'd say that several factors will determine how much Dillon will play/contribute next season
First is whether Danny decides to redshirt Cam and George both next season, or just one of them. George is very athletic. I'd say Danny will want him to really get into the S&C program this spring and summer. If he packs on about 15-20# of muscle by the start of school next August, Danny may decide that a stronger, athletic Darius could nicely complement Penava, Iran and Levi and contribute productive depth on our front line next season.
Secondly, how much turnover will we see among the underclassmen on this year's team? Koljanin, Bledsoe, Thieneman, will any or all of them be back in 18-19? With some of their slots opening up, Danny may go hard after a grad transfer forward or athletic juco forward. That would help determine Dillon's status/playing time next season, IMO.
Not worried about the teams Dillon's Miner squad has played. Some very competitive teams in WV AA ball this season. Fairmont Senior has a power house, led by that monster Stills kid, about 6'5" and 260# who is a D1 football recruit at WVU. Both Logan, with the sophomore Early who already has strong interest from MU and WVU, and Chapmanville, with the 6'9" D1 prospect, have also been played by Mingo Central.
Also, I think the fact that Dillon has played football and was VERY GOOD at it is a Plus, not a minus. He is quite athletic, and at around 6'5", if he puts on and 15 pounds or so, I'd say he could be pretty solid as a defender, rebounder, etc.
-
Dillon scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a big win this past Saturday against a good Philip Barbour team.

Dillon has played AAU with the WV Wildcats since his 9th grade year.
-

The word is that Dani will NOT be returning (his decision, not ours) and that will cover the addition of Levi. Danny is still looking for another player for next year. IF he gets one then one more will have to go. I have heard, but have not confirmed, that Christian will graduate this year., If so, that would give him many more options other than to sit the bench here.

Not banging on the players, but the bench not stepping up and contributing more this year has really hurt us. At least half our 8 losses could be wins. Instead of 19-8 we could easily be 23-4 right now.

15-20 pounds of muscle is very difficult to obtain in a couple of months during the summer I don't care how young you are. Now it can be done illegally

I believe Jeremy Dillon (6'5 220) can become a smaller WKU Justin Johnson (6'7 240)...... very strong and aggressive.....

west made the jump from A ball
-
we will see. I trust DD.
No doubt west made it from small WV ball to D1 successfully as a true freshman. I recall DD saying he saw him guarding someone (i'm thinking AAU ball) and knew he could play.
As far as Dillon, I agree with folks on both sides of the aisle here.........I saw him play against Nitro, he is a nice physical specimen and athletic and has a beautiful stroke. that said, he played a lot in the post which he won't at MU, but the few times he was outside he didn't just blow by anyone guarding him and these were not D1 guys, so I did have concerns about his quickness and speed. But hey, I trust DD, I'm not a D1 talent evaluator and it was just one game.

I was talking to Steve Cotton today. He rode over to see Cam last night with Corny. He said his body frame made Jaanson Williams look huge. He said he is REALLY thin but will certainly be able to play our style. This is, of course, why Danny wants to redshirt him.
Mark will be going to Florida next week to take another look at a player there and we COULD have a HS senior visitor from Columbus in town Saturday night

This kid has to be careful from busting his head on the rim. He can get up!!!!
-
At 6'4" and 155 pounds, he continues our tradition of recruiting them "thin". Imagine, though, he will no doubt be redshirted for a year if he comes to MU!

I hope we get him as he has a lot of upside....... PG with a lot of spring and speed........ would fit DD system very well.........................

If this kid has shooting and slashing to go along with spring and speed he would be a good get. 6-4 is nice size if he can play PG. Would bring more length to the PG position, especially if he grows another inch. Don't need him to play next season so easy to RS him and at least get him to 175 in the S&C program.

A triple double including 10 blocks! Kollin is quite the shot blocker.
