Herd coach will usher in new era By ANTHONY HANSHEW - The Herald-Dispatch
HUNTINGTON -- While Marshall football players focus on spring practice duties, those behind the scenes are working to hit an offseason home run.
Even before Bobby Pruett’s surprise retirement as head coach, Thundering Herd football was approaching a make-or-break period. Marshall debuts as a Conference USA member this season, and it’s incumbent that the Herd continues to contend for conference championships and bowl appearances.
Why? Aside from the obvious of wins and losses, Marshall football must succeed to enhance its chances of earning facilities improvements. An indoor practice facility is a top priority, but bountiful fund raising will be required.
