  • Lack of speed and coaches failure to utilize him in pass game hurt Knox.  And the OC failed to rotate rbs consistently in what should have been a run heavy offense.  Coaches didn?t help his NFL life.

Should have played another year under the new staff to learn from a coach that's helped some big time backs.

Huff took Ali from the riding the bench to most TDs in college football. I wonder if Knox could have improved his game and been more NFL ready.

I wonder if Ali would have seen the field with Doc...

Generally speaking, it seems rare a G5 player leaves early for pros and it ends up working out in their favor.

  • IMO, Knox never had "the burst" to get into high gear at the get go. Got bad advise leaving but it is what it is.  A year under Huff maybe woulda made that guy at least practice NFL material. You cant teach speed and the NFL is full of it.

  • Darius Marshall left early and thought he was NFL material. We know how that turned out. Ali is special,
Let him develop more and get better and see where it goes.

There was talk from some outlets that he had a chance to make a roster.  However he failed his first NFL drug test.   Marshall was talented he was just not so smart.  Could have saved himself had he taken Doc's meeting.  After Doc took over he set up a meeting for Darius to meet with some NFL scouts that were going to give him an assessment and Darius never showed up for the meeting.

I think he ended up coming back to Marshall a year or two later to finish his degree and then got arrested on drug possession.

  • We need an OC who understands how to use a 2 back system where both get 20 carries a game or a 25/15 ratio.  Cramsey has not been able to do this

We need an OC who understands that some backs are better for some situations and you don't leave the wrong one in just because it's their turn.  How many times we come up short because it was Evans' rotation?  Sheldon does some things well, but when the first down is on the line he is not the guy.

  • We all seem to have forgotten Devon Johnson who was a bit of a freakish talent but he was very good at Marshall for a while.

Devon Johnson is one of my all time favorite Herd football players. He was fun to watch.

  • I always liked talking with Rock such a nice young man. It broke my heart when he passed. Herdnation has lost a lot of players at very young ages. I was very tight with a lot of the players, Michael Payton, Phil Ratliff, Byron Turner, Jeff Edwards, and Johnathan Goddard just to name a few. RIP Herd brothers!

  • Rock helped me get through the toughest time in my life when I didn?t know which way was up. Lucky I had him and a few other teammates to lean on during that time. Ran like a man possessed, but loved the way he took pride in blocking in pass pro. So unselfish. Never took credit.

Ali is a pleasure to watch and a special talent. I hope he has another great year and gets the respect he deserves whenever the time comes for him to get drafted. Like someone else on here said, his burst is a difference maker, to say the least. I like watching players that ?want to score,? meaning they run that way every time they have the ball or may potentially get the ball. He?s one of those guys.

His baby momma was all over facebook ranting about Darius was going pro to support her and the child...Sounds like he didn't feel he had a choice.

  • I loved watching Devon run. There is one play against NIU in the bowl game (Boca Raton bowl 2014) where he is running out of bounds and gives an extra bit of a stiff arm to an NIU defender. He had attitude and played with aggression. Loved watching him play!
