  • Obinna is way more aggressive the last couple games.  It looks like hes feeling better . Micah is so much better than Goran even being a Freshman. BAD call on Micah

  • Marshall social media put out that Chicago State is the 358/363 ranked team in KenPom and 363/363 on defense. Their high impact offense is 332/363. I don?t care if this team has Jesus Shuttleworth on the roster, this should be an easy home W. Hoping for a much improved second half.

Agree it should be a win no doubt. Just saying they are a decent team and I don't care what kenpom says. They are much better than our two previous home games.

  • Early should get a shot over Curfman

Curfman should come off bench as 3 point specialist. He's a liability on D and can't penetrate

Don't know about Early, but agree with the last part.

Almost like we should treat him like we did Pena, come off the bench to give a boost with threes.

  • Our big three vets have played well and Micah has played one hell of a game. He might get pushed around but he does not give up and goes after the ball.

  • Chicago would not go away.
Someone above put it best, this is a better situation test for our team even though we all wish for a blowout.

  • I don?t think Curfman is a liability on defense.  It?s something you all just keep repeating without much evidence.  He works hard and he needs to be in the game to stretch the opposing team?s defense and he handles the ball well.  Good game tonight.  Fan support is terribly disappointing. It?s going to be tough to hang onto Conner and Handlogton playing in front of quiet, half-empty arena.

We get barbecued with dribble penetration because Curfman lacks lateral quickness

That's why we have to switch to zone D, which I'm glad DD is doing

As far as the crowd, it's called apathy

Only way to get fans back is to keep winning

Watching practice everyday it is obvious that Early slows us way down. Lacks speed and way too much dribbling. Danny absolutely loves the guy but just can't play him. There are about 3 others that are the same.

We have speed and length and that is what Danny is recruiting for the future as well. He is looking at a couple of HS seniors a junior and about 4 sophomores that all fill that bill

Curfman has played very good defense last two games. And I agree with the post above that it's going to be hard hanging onto these freshman with the pathetic attendance we are getting. Just be careful what some are wishing for. Because we have seen some really bad basketball from 88 until 2015 or so. It's getting harder and harder to stay a Marshall fan with the pathetic fan support we are getting and the constant complaining.

Posts-game how indicated 3500 and change in the CAM tonight.  Second game with attendance in the 3000+ range.  First game, 4200+.  After last season's fiasco, lot of skeptical HERD fans are slow to return.  Essentially telling Danny to "Show Me".  Continued success and a strong overall showing throughout the remainder of the OOC games, hopefully we'll crowds up around 5,000 or so when we open Conference play at the endo of Dec.!

Keep in mind that with the new arena configuration we can only hold about 6k. Before the pandemic we averaged over 6k every year

  • I'm not worried about attendance at all, these aren't attractive name opponents, it isn't conference, and we've  had two Monday games in a row; tough night for fans. Plus, not these unrecognizable teams over the holiday week.  Not making excuses, just giving attendance challenge facts.

    ti

Some elaboration please, HM.  Exactly what "configuration"?  CAM held a little over 9,000 just recently after our first "renovation" reduced the original seating of 10,250 downward!  Seems like a similar, sad trend (and commentary) on both the trending of Huntington's population and MU's basketball program and Fan interest (disinterest?).

What did they do specifically?  Remove seats?  Put large tarps over most of the "nosebleed/cheap" bleacher seats up in the stratosphere??
