That?s to have a number retired. If that was for Marshall HOF we would only have 2 people in our HOF.

If I remember correctly, Cato was committed to FIU and Shuler talked him into coming to Marshall. So his impact went beyond the outstanding player he was.

I'm not sure on that, would have liked have seen what Fro would have done if Cato didn't come here.

He had some pretty good stats and won awards in the MAC for UMass.

Anyways Mr. Dependable and he deserves to be honored for all the clutch catches he had over his career.

Can't prove it, but with the talent on those teams in 13-14 not sure we wouldn't have been at least as successful with Fro as QB.

There was an almost telepathic connection between Cato and Shuler. They converted a lot of third and short to mediums on Shuler running option routes that may or may not have been in the offense.

Shuler was the king of 1000 yard Wide Receivers. The only 1k guy we've had in like the last 7 years was Tyre Brady which goes to show our passing game has been mediocre.

Anyways Congrats to SHUUUUUU he definitely deserves it!

Agree with this 100%. Just sad we've had one good multiple year starter (Cato) since Stan Hill. That's terrible on our part.

congrats to him.  Cato and Shuler were, to me, the sandlot kings (mostly good, some bad aspects).  but bottom line is winning and the will to win

Ironically, I watched highlights of the Akron game last night. No Doc fan, but the talent on this team was outstanding.

Man, Cato, Shuler, Rockhead, Yurachek and company made that look so easy.  And the defense was stout with Roberts, Leggett, Hewett, Rouse and others. 
Hope we can get back to the level of that team someday soon.

The growth and progression of the team from 2011 to 2014 was something really special to watch.
