  • I think when the defender slapped the backboard, it became goaltending...anyone know for sure?

UNT big-man tip the ball on the way down (you can see the trajectory change) right before he hits the backboard.  The official on that side called it immediately, and the big-man didn't put up a fuss (neither did UNT as whole, for that matter).

  • At the game we were yelling for a goal tending because there was never a signal from the ref. Was very confusing.

  • The call was made immediately and definitively. The signal was made immediately to count the basket.

I couldn’t tell if the ball had hit the backboard before it was tipped or not, but it was in the way down regardless.

Good call and happy to get out of there with a win.

  • Definitely goal tending...thanks for posting it

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • i dont think anyone has mentioned this, but once a ball has touched the backboard, it doesnt matter if its still on its way up or down. Its still goal tending according the the ncaa.

In NCAA basketball, WNBA and NBA basketball, goaltending is also called if the ball has already touched the backboard while being above the height of the rim in its flight, regardless of whether it being in an upward or downward flight or whether it is directly above the rim.
All I have ever truly wanted to be was a great dad.

  • He was groomed right at the Ville....  D'Antoni again has developed a player.  Burks is an NBA guard from the right parts of town!!  He's big and quick enough to play in the NBA.  If his 3 point shot gets to a quick release and straight cash homey anytime there is little space look out.  He starts throwing down on people just simple vert training he's going to be a good pro.
