Last week, UTSA trailed UAB, 21-6, entering the fourth quarter, but Sturm engineered a pair of touchdown drives before the comeback ran out of time in a 24-19 loss to the Blazers.

One of those touchdowns was Sturm's 22-yard run when he broke six tackles after looking as though he was pinned along the sideline. Sturm found a way to make defenders miss and broke through two arm tackles before sprinting to the end zone.

"He made a spectacular play with the run he had," Heater said. "He's a gutty, tough kind of guy."

  • I tell you what, the local media has built up UTSA like we are playing 'Bama and this kid like he is the second coming of Tom Brady. Gosh, these guys are so good, should we even step off the bus?

Hey they have a 5-4 record. This will certainly be a challenge. UTSA is tremendous.

  • I admit I don't sleep well when football season is upon us, so I do watch a bunch of games other C-USA teams play; probably watched at least 4 (partial) UTSA games so far this year.

This article is IMHO true, but what it fails to outline is that their other players (albeit a couple recievers are pretty good) aren't that good.  Their Defensive line is big and pretty good but not great so we'll have a challenge running for a while. But if Chase is on, we should be able to pick their defensive backfield apart.  Their Oline isn't that great, and we've shown some strength to get to quarterbacks.  If, and it's a big if, we can play the flats well on the run and pass, we should win in San Antonio tomorrow.

  • Smock picks us to lose and doesn’t even think the game will be close!

He also picked us to lose against WKU. He stands at 5-5 on his picks.

  • Well I just looked at their schedule and results. Why is everyone acting like they are good? They lost to Southern, Texas St, FIU and UAB. Beat a very bad Rice team 21-7. Only win I see that would even raise an eyebrow would be Baylor their 1st game of the year. And Baylor is a shell of itself. I think we win this game by 2 td's.

Really depends if Chase can get the ball to the boys in Green and White.

I'm not saying we have an explosive offense team. But 7 points? The defense will probably score 7 points. We are avg 28.2 points a game and Smock thinks we will score7? I don't think we are a good offensive team, but if we only score 7 points against UTSA, they must have a D like Alabama.

  • As long as their defensive coach hasn't got a copy of Nintendo Tecmo Bowl and has seen all of our plays, then we should be ok....

  • UTSA has a winning record. Which Doc is 14-31 against.

It's in Texas where we've won once since joining C-USA. And we're like 20-28 on the road under Doc anyway.

Anyone predicting a loss is just playing the numbers. No fault in that.

  • Weak run game+good UTSA run D+ no Brady doesn't bode well. Still I would be tempted to bet on the only scoring 7. Their O is just as anemic as ours so prob a low scoring affair and the winner might be whoever takes care of the FB.
