  • Be VERY careful about Facebook friending these guys. As I understand it, they are not considered student athletes until they enroll...even an innocent remark like "Welcome to the Herd" could possibly, depending on your interpretation, be considered a violation of NCAA rules...at least that is the way it has been explained to me unless there has been some loosening of the rule.

  • Something that I found interesting looking at Rivals:

Marshall has 14 commits with a total of 37 stars = Average of 2.648 star per player.

wvu has 26 commits with a total of 74 stars =  Average of 2.846 star per player.

MU's numbers are done with one player's star rating of 0 and Turene was a 4 star when he signed with UGA, but is a 3 now.

The gap is closing!  Gotta love and respect what Doc is doing on the recruiting trail, regardless of what you think about the X's and O's!

    Go Herd

"When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows. And if you do that, if you do that, we cannot lose."

Turene and Tindal are being penalized by Rivals because they are NQs, which I think is BS, but that is the corporate policy. If you look at ESPN, you see that Turene is a 4-Star and Tindal is a HIGH 3-Star, so I would use those rankings for NQs.

  • I am tremendously encouraged by the signing of the two JUCOs

Sparky Anderson said that during the reign of the Big Red Machine, the batboy could have made up the lineup. If Doc keeps rolling it will be almost like that in CUSA. Maybe im exaggerating just a little, but you know what I mean.

I had forgotten about the LS we talked about earlier. Always wondered with Bartrum's LS rep in the NFL why we couldn't get a few dedicated LS coming in. Not sure if it's on Doc's radar but I hope we can land a kicker that can consistently put it in the end zone as well. The little things make a big difference in building this program back to what it once was.

  • one star, ten stars..don't matter to me. It's what's in your heart and what you do on the field that make you a star and a winner. Keep em coming in Doc!!!  Make the stars shine

  • dont think we have scholarships to cover many more than are committed now..jmo.....several new guys already in school.......looks to be another great class even if its not recognized as such. It seems that the guys sitting out sometimes are overlooked by the recruiting analysts. Not so much a coupla yrs later when they are terrorizing the league like Mario and Vinny. Buts it true that you never know for sure til you see them on the field.
