Listen, I don't care what we do for the bowl game. But if we don't do an alternative uniform in the near future, I can assure you that it will hurt recruiting, even if it's just one player. Schools that are "traditional" like Georgia, Purdue, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, Florida and even Tennessee (and many more) have worn "throwback" or alternate "third jersey" combos in recent years. You don't think there is as much or more tradition in those programs? Yes there is...but they know that regardless of what level you are recruiting on, this MATTERS to recruits.
Not doing an alternate jersey wouldn't surprise me, because it seems that MU is always 5+ years behind trends, but to think that tradition is going to be "spoiled" because we wear a black jersey once a year is asinine. We live in a "what have you done for me lately" society. What Bobby Pruett and Chad Pennington did year 12-13 years ago in our "traditional" uniforms doesn't matter to an 18 year old 4* recruit --- but the "swaggin' black jersey" might.
All I would ask when considering this issue is not to be so closed minded to think that something like this isn't VERY important to kids today...what we, as fans want, really isn't important.
