  • Coach Juli has another player:

Adiana Pacheco 6'1" forward with 2 years to play (I believe).

We have 3 recruits now with 2 to go.
We need that big center and maybe another ball handling/shooting guard.
Now, I'm mind reading here and my "armchair prognostication" may be a little off, but it's a "swag" estimate.  🙄

Don't we still need two PG types?  I don't think we've added any guards to replace Abby and Bre. Maybe the two other players who visited and were ready to sign, according to one post earlier in this thread, are guards. Even if they are FR that would be fine with me.

  • I believe that Timberlynn Yeast, who did not play last year, is considered a point guard.  She's quick and can handle the ball.  If Juli can come up with one more point guard I believe The Herd will be good in the guard department.  But, getting that 6'3"-6'4" center would be the player that is needed to be the strength of the front court that is needed to battle the big Sun Belt teams.

  • We have signed Blessing King, a transfer from Morehead State.

She is 5'10" and looks to have two years left. She looks strong with some athleticism.

Big time rebounder. She averaged 10.6 rpg. She had 20 games with 10+ rebounds. She averaged over 5 ppg.

    Looks like a great pickup.

  • From Morehead site:
    FIRST YEAR (2023-24)
Played in all 30 games, starting 25 ... Averaged 27.4 minutes per game ... Ranked second in the OVC in rebounding at 10.6 per game ... Consistently ranked in NCAA top 10 in offensive rebounding ... Averaged 5.8 points per game on 58.6% shooting ... 20 games with 10+ rebounds ... Season-high 18 rebounds vs. Southern Indiana (2/20).

    PRIOR TO MSU
Played one season at Florida SouthWestern State .. Averaged 13.7 rebounds and 10.4 points .. Averaged a blocked shot per game .. Produced 18 double-figure rebounding games, including 10 games with 15+ boards and five outings with more than 20 rebounds .. Posted 11 games with double-digit points .. Attended high school at Worthington Christian in Columbus .. Was named District Player of the Year and was First-Team All-State as a senior when she totaled 14 points and 11 rebounds per game .. Finished her career with 1,100 points and is WCHS' all-time leading rebounder with 964.

On down side she shot only 40% from FT line with over 60 attempts. If coaches can get her to 65%+ she will be a better scorer

  • A real Blessing for Herd WBB.

Seriously though, I like that Coach has brought in a lot of players with a high FG %

Her play videos are above in the link

From her Twitter, looks like she committed to Stetson last year, then she committed to Rio Grande back in February. She apparently also had offers (from her twitter) from Niagara and Coastal Carolina.

  • Coach J def had spots to recruit.  Hopefully we are 15ppg less on the defensive end to match our 10ppg less on offensive end.  Then we are a better team

at face value, i really like the makeup of this team.  i think your "15 & 10" might just be spot on.  i can't wait to see how it comes together.

  • Uh.....curtain call!

    Coach Juli's got another player!

Leyocha Mariglney  6' 3" Center from Reedley Junior College from Cali.  She has 3 years of eligibility.

    She averages:14.1 points/game, 53.3 field goal percentage, and 17.4 rebounds/game.

    Now, we have a front court of 6' 3", 6' 2", and 6' 1"

Now that's what I'm talking about!

That's 16......someone must have an academic scholarship or will walk-on.

Looks like from her twitter she had offers from Arkansas State and LaSalle, and visited University of Denver less than a week ago.

i don't know most of the rules governing NIL so i ask anybody: what's to keep NIL from paying a walk-on, at least, equal or more than that of a full scholarship or full scholarship+NIL?

this latest signee is tall icing on what i thought was a completed cake.  again, it looks like a very good recruiting class.  fills all the holes although the only question seems to be a guard of the do-it-all-scoring type but the team has a lot of guards or G/F-combos.

Pretty sure Jayda Allie from Cabell Midland was a walk-on last year. I assume that's still the case based on this signing.
