Glad you had this posted this.  I just came in for lunch from skiing all morning, had not realized we played this early today.  I would have missed the game if not for your post.

I understand they are bringing in hundreds of screaming kids as a promotion such as what we subjected LA to. It is also part of a Mens/Women's doubleheader, although with 6 or 6 1/2 hours between game starts they will no doubt clear the arena.

Last I looked, Appy was about 8-1 at home so I view this as a trap game. We need to at least split between this game and ODU on Saturday. Which would give us a good chance to win our last 4 regular season games and clinch first place. Would result in a double bye and put JMU in the same tnmt. bracket as Troy.

App State does a great job with their productions and their marketing efforts.  The internal (ASU-made) commercials are excellent.

40-40 at the half. Basket had a lid on it for the last 4:37 for the Herd. Herd had runs of 17-0 and 10-0.

Biscuit and Redwoman rebounding and defending well.

Shoehorn single-handedly wiped out a 6 point deficit in the 3rd qtr with back-to-back corner treys in 30 secs although we fell behind again thereafter.

They seem to believe in her process now. and can really light it up at times.  We enjoy watching their games...

I am really happy for this program.

These ladies just keep getting after it......chips are down, they come back and fight back.....they buy in and they play hard for the name on the jersey.

Coach Caldwell is just a pure winner in so many phases of the coaching profession. It is more than Xs and Os with her. She just knows how to motivate players and knows each week what she has to correct. But she sticks to her system all game and the ladies are bought in.

I am taking off work during that last game on a Friday in March and driving 6.5 hours in to watch these ladies play. Softball last season and this season's women's basketball have brought interest in two sports that I just used to follow at a distance. I hope Coach Caldwell has some incentives in her contract because she deserves some financial rewards for the job she has done.

Exactly. We could have this in MBB if leadership would just make the necessary decisions to get us on our way.

BTW, JMU lost at home to Georgia State. That puts them 3 games behind Marshall. Troy is now in sole possession of 2nd place two games behind the Herd with five games left in regular season. They also have a pretty favorable schedule. A win Saturday at ODU would go a long way in helping Marshall in trying to capture regular season title. I am not knocking on other BB coach, but they do give a trophy and raise banner for regular season championships..as they should.

congrats and well done.
one of the most refreshing, exciting Herd basketball teams in the last 5 or 6 decades.  not a joke, this is team ball.  outstanding team/coaching effort. 
as coach says, there is always room for improvement.  two are- lack of touch and correct backboard usage and bad passes/unforced errors on offense, but they are outstanding in many other categories on both O and especially D.
