  • The NCAA selection committee consists of 10 members
    Here they are:
Mitch Barnhart - Masters from Ohio Univ.
Tom Burnett - Louisiana Tech grad.
    Janet Cone - Furman grad
Bernard Muir - Masters from Ohio Univ.
Jim Schaus - Masters from WVU
Kevin White - Son is coach of Louisiana Tech.
Tom Holmoe - Masters from BYU
    Jim Phillips
    Craig Thompson
    Bruce Rasmussen
    ~
Could any of this played into Marshall being picked to potentially play WVU? Inquiring minds would like to know..............
    ~
    Tuesday Before Selection Sunday
The committee arrives in New York City for the beginning of the selection process. For the next five days, the 10 committee members will cast hundreds of ballots and engage in debate over dozens of teams until the final bracket of 68 is released on Selection Sunday.

  • 'Nova is probably the most athletic team in the tournament, and probably the odds-on favorite to win it all, both before the tournament and especially now with the Purdue center getting hurt. Michigan State and KY could take it all I suppose as well. I don't have faith in many of the others now with UVA out of the picture.

Since either us or USPAM getting in the sub-bracket with the #4 and #5 seed to face 'Nova was not too cool. But as they say, no matter who it is in front of you just win baby.

  • They say that TV (CBS) has no part of the process, but there is way to much story line building through the brackets for me to believe that.  No way Oklahoma makes it in if not for the TV appeal of Young.  Us ending up against WVU and Purdue/Butler end up against each other is just to much coincidence for me.  I remember years ago when UK wouldn't play Louisville they put them in the same bracket to set up a game.
