  • I say we agree to sign a 2-1. After all they are in a BCS conference and the athletic department is supposedly self-sustaining. Blah, blah, blah.

However, for the sake of fairness, we should get all of the pop tax for the next 40 years (or how ever long they recieved it).

My understanding is that WVU also gets more $ on a per student basis. The two should also have to switch funding per student for a time that is equal to however long this has gone on.

I think this would be fair. After a while, I bet our athletic department could be "self-sustaining" too.

  • Just because their athletics dept is self supporting doesnt mean their med school is.  I mean they HAVE to have that $14 million/year.  The other 2 med schools in the state are on their own.  Screw MUSoM and WVSoOM

Where do you all get this stuff?

Are you saying that MUSoM and WVSoOM don't get state monies?

No not at all.  Im just giving the wvu standard line of crap.  WVU gets state money AND the pop tax that is all.

  • Fight the pop tax...if you live in Huntington, go across the river to buy your sodas.

WVU would downgrade their program to 1-AA before they agree to play in the same conference with us.

Wouldn't  that be sweet!  Our luck, they would pull the Big East's BCS berth the year after we joined.  This series is nowhere near an even playing field the way it is now.
