So, how will they adjust to the precipitation if it rains?

"Well, it's Huntington," said senior tight end Ryan Yurachek with a knowing grin. "So, if it's a 40 or 50 percent chance now, it could be 100 or zero tomorrow. We don't know. Or, it could be 50 percent and not rain on Saturday.

"But there is rain forecast for Saturday, so we'll probably try to get out one day this week for about a half of a practice and work a little bit in the rain. It's just something that we've been fortunate enough not to have to play in the rain this year so far. But it's something we want to be prepared for."

  • Well if running becomes bigger:

FIU is 77th nationally at 151 ypg/4.1 ypc
    MU is 79th at 151 (rounded)/4.2 ypc

FIU is 80th in rushing D at 176 ypg/4.5 ypc
    MU is 15th at 110 ypg/3.2 ypc

    FIU's kicker is a FR but 9/10 with 2 40-49
    FIU punter averages 43 ypk

Both pass defenses give up about 204 ypg but MU allows opposing QB to complete 52%, while FIU allows whopping 65%

FIU probably only CUSA team that has played a worse schedule than MU.  They played best game last time out vs Tulane (a win at home) but only beat Alcorn by 7 pts, Charlotte by 1, and lost big at MTSU (before Stockstill hurt??).

Run the football and don't fumble and MU should have decided edge.  Turn ball over and let game come down to FG's and FIU has a shot.

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

No longer that much of an advantage. We don't practice in inclement weather anymore.

  • Bad tracks tend to take away advantages in speed & quickness. I would guess that the Herd's roster is more athletic presently than FIU's. Lot of the of both squads men are from HS playoff teams that have played in late November in cool-to-cold rainy conditions. I think the weather actually favors the Owls more than the Herd.
