The crowd of 11,748 spectators nearly filled the 12,500 capacity arena.

"It was amazing," said Marshall sophomore point guard Jon Elmore, a Charleston native, who was on the court in his second Herd game after gaining eligibility as a VMI transfer. "I'd have liked the results to be a little different, but growing up as a kid in Charleston I've always dreamed of playing in this game. Kids from here worship this game. Everybody says, 'I'd love to play for Marshall' or 'I'd love to play for WVU.'

"I have nothing but love for this game and it was amazing."
