Much ado about nothing.

That's pretty much how the seemingly colossal collegiate conference reconfiguration ended up.

Texas threatened to move to the Big Ten or Pac-10 or SEC and say goodbye to the Big 12.

But it didn't.

Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State listened to overtures from the Pac-10 and appeared ready to bid adieu to the Big 12.

But they didn't.

Texas A&M had the official clearance to move to the SEC and say goodbye to the Big 12.

But it didn't.

Chuck, we all want a play-off, but we also want inclusion.  Mega conferences would NOT let anyone out of their conference participate in "their" playoff.  They would be creating I-AA all over again.

What sunk their "plan" was a lot of current BCS teams would be kicked out of their sandbox.

Conference realignment was no less disappointing than regularly reading Chuck Landon columns, IMO.
