  • Darius Marshall is no where to be found even as a free agent.
If he doesn't make a team as a free agent, I'm sure he's going to "regret ever leaving the Herd".. Especially once he see Martin Ward and Antwan Booker, have great years and we win CUSA and go to the Liberty Bowl....

  • oops thats right...left early....

Perhaps he could work at McDonalds and save up tuition money or work as Snyders personally gofer...for several years to pay for college....

Then in about 6 years of saving and taking classes...he could graduate...and then become a GA!

Wow!!  What a smart idea to ditch your scholarship....

Marshall is a rock star, because Snyder told him so!

  • Marshall was a good running back.  He made a mistake.  I hope he gets on with team and takes off.  Why do we actively root against these kids whenever they make decisions like this continues to escape me.

It serves no purpose other than to espouse negativity.  As a fanbase, I think we should be better than that.

  • You are correct Im being to harsh.  I just feel like he really snubbed Doc...and I have a feeling that Snyder had a play in it...directly, indirectly, intentionally, or unintentionally.

I just dont get it though....I mean...really?  Go pro?  Give up your shot at college....now he cant even be a freakin GA.  What was he basing his draft value on?????

He cant try to do any coaching because it would be setting a bad example bc he never graduated.

    Ugh....its very sad.

  • Yeah, why bash the guy? Y'all act like you never did anything you regretted. So he left early and declared for the NFL draft and hasn't been picked yet. I didn't support his decision to leave but I sure as hell don't think it's right to make fun of him. Especially since everyone on this board was praising him for all the hard work he contributed to Marshall football.

I can't tell you how many other players are in his situation. It sucks. I just hope he can recover and make something of himself.

I always wish anyone that's a son of Marshall to do well in his  or her future endeavors, be it the NFL or working as an accountant, etc.. I think a lot of people are pissed off at the bad advice he got to leave early..I don't think anyone on here hates Darius, he's a son of the Herd.....We just wanted what was best for him. Who knows, he could surprise and fool us all if he gets a chance as a free agent....

Too bad for Darius Marshall, but this turned out pretty much like most people on the board thought it would.  Hate to see anything resembling rubbing it in, but you have to admit the people that wanted him to stay his Sr. year had his best interests in mind.

Hopefully, this will serve has a lesson & reminder to future players and hopefully, something still works out for DM.

  • I assume Darius can still finish up his degree somehow if he doesn't land somewhere? Good posts (the positive ones). No reason for "I told you so" at a time like this for the young man.

  • I remember Darious rushing for 50 yard td runs, breaking tackles and refusing to go out of bounds.  Is that how we thank him?

We don't know what is going on in his life.  I know he has a kid.  Maybe he needed to earn some money and had to leave.

Either way he gave us three years of hard work and thousands of yards of rushing.  I hope he gets a shot at the NFL and if he doesn't I

wish him luck in whatever he chooses.

  • At worst, he ends up making a living playing Arena of CFL.  It is a rough life with little stability and no where near the money he had hoped for.  I am hoping he will get an NFL shot.  I don't think the scouting analysises were accurate (easy to bring down knock...after his freshman year that was completely untrue). He is a fine returner and would do very well in that capacity....he makes up for what he lacks in blazing speed with amazing lane vision. If an NFL team takes a chance on him, he will probably never be a superstar but could help them for several years.

  • he was a good back, never a great back. He and Ahmad had the same character issues in college, but AB was a much better back IMO. AB barely got drafted, but has made a nice career for himself. Doubt DM is ever going to make a NFL roster. Hope I'm wrong.

And the loudest I've ever heard the Joan was when DM broke out on the opening kickoff against WVU.  He gave us three good years.
