  • Yep, meaningless game.  Well, unless you think recruiting is important. Is it better to sit with a recruit and pitch that we are coming off a ten win season, with a win over VT and a bowl win or to say that we aren't?

What if a recruit holds an offer from both Marshall and ODU?

  • Well, right now, forecast is about 80 per cent, or more, that there will be rain on Saturday.  Either on and off, or perhaps steady, not sure how heavy rain will be.

No doubt, that will affect both teams' offensive game plans.  Probably more conservative game calling, toned down passing, etc.  Turnovers will be at a premium.  Hopefully, our special teams will play at a high level.  That aspect of the game has been a hallmark of Tech football for decades!!

Beamer ball left with him. Pretty sure they don't play starters across their entire special teams anymore.

  • It’s another regular season game nothing more nothing less. It has no bearing on anything. It will be another  season of potential ten wins yet only beating at MOST two teams with a winning record. Every other day you guys do nothing but whine and complain about doc not beating anyone with a pulse. This is not a normal VT team. They have struggled this year. I’m not basing the success/failure of this season of a game that wasn’t scheduled until a week ago.

  • My fear is that Hokies play at another level, it's big boy football.  There record isn't very good but their league is better.  Plus they have more on the line and it's a home game.  Just sayin'  WE BETTER LOOK OUT !!!

Like someone already posted "play to win the game". Don't give a schitt who "they" are.

This is also a Va Tech team that just beat a ranked Virginia team and also has more to play for against us this game then any other time....even Lefty's Herd team got smoked at Va Tech....a win tomorrow is a good win for our program...people still talk about the win at Clemson and South Carolina and at a minimum this win would be as good as either of those.

  • I am sure my good buddy 24 will point out that Green lost the game for us and Litton would have won it. LOL! :P

This will be a tough one. Yeah, it's not your typical Hokie team but they'll be jacked up and motivated to continue that streak. They will blitz and put pressure on Green all day. Could be a long day for the freshmen.

I never once said it was a meaningless game for VT. Let’s be honest it’s their Super Bowl this year to keep their bowl streak alive. And no people really don’t still talk about winning against Clemson or usc. Sure we have the occasional oh remember when threads about those two games but it’s not near the program defining wins you’re making them out to be VT would be no different.

Fair comparison...….  Clemson 99 was a better team than this version of VT and Clemson had as much or more to play for.  Lefty's Herd dropped too many passes that night.  Easy catches.  Flags were bad too.  Still no excuses.  That VT team was the best one Herd ever played.  Had Kevin Jones and Lee Suggs in the backfield.  I believe a wr as well that played well in NFL.  The best team Herd ever played was Florida Gators with Rex Grossman, Ernest Graham, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney (school Florida record offensive team).  No doubt about they were great!  Our guys got zapped with the NCAA violations right before boarding the plane.  Timing was...…. so rigged by the NCAA.

    You are WRONG....AGAIN.

Their Special Teams Coordinator won ST Coordinator of the year last year. They beat VA by blocking a punt and it was one of their best WRs who blocked the punt.

Do you just make stuff up, throw it against the wall, and hope it sticks?
