  • Well, lackluster performance.  Got to kick it up for USM.

Don't know what kind of crowd will be there on a Friday night. I know it will be a problem for me. I have too many kids to manage.

  • As someone alluded to earlier, we will be 4-1 after today and one more week to work on getting better.....  If we can get better each week, then by post season, who knows.

Yep. Every season there are bowl games where the talk is about a team that grew over the season to become more than anyone thought they'd be. Why not us. It's not like anyone thought we'd be all that bad anyhow. Southern Miss game will be a real measuring stick.

  • I talked to a lot of people...............thought we would be better.......then again, at one point we all expected, Stu Butler, A J Louis, DJ, Birdsong to all be key parts of this team.........and who would have thought this group of receivers would disappear early... Foster had a really good Fr season, so far just awful, McManus had a great Fr year........little production so far, etc.

McManus always had a drop issue. Last year he just made big plays to compensate. This team was a chase Litton and Reaves from falling off the tracks the last couple weeks.

However, in reality WVU wasn't playing the little sisters of the poor today.  We were.  That portion of their schedule is over and done with, unfortunately for them.  Well, until they play Kansas, that is.   :)

Great to see MVP for the Bee!  Larry Forquean was the "Queen B." So Ryan will just have to be ,"The Bee." He floats like a butterfly and stings like, " the bee.":)

  • overall we sucked today. not a good game. Bad coaching, as usual. we are not a good team -- yet...
we should have blown them away ... glad for the win. we have to get MUCH better.
But I love the Herd, a long day of "living and dying" with the herd.

I would like to get a temporary stay for next fall, come back east and buy 2 season tickets and root for the herd ON SItE......
If that opportunity arises, I will DO it.

    go Herd.......................
    Go HERD!!!

  • 5 weeks and every week a different defensive player steps up. I am proud of the effort of these guys.. I can't wait until the offense does the same.

They were leading the nation in a few categories, having badly beaten 2 1-aa schools at their place....their QB was "the most efficient QB in the nation".... things changed today.....He threw 4 interceptions and had a 150 yards passing...

  • I am very happy for the win. But, we were not a good football team today. My wife said it was the most boring game of her life. She is kinda right.
We suckd and have to get better. Hopefully, we will; I see a lot of effort from young players who are trying to put the herd on top.
Our older players are NOT doing their part. We need to keep inching up, getting another W each week, and getting better, and getting healthy.
We are a very long way from where I thought this Herd team would be.....

    go Herd...
    Go HERD!!!

  • At this point our offense is so inconsistent and it takes them 4 or 5 to get things doing. We're very lucky our defense is stepping up in the first half even though they're not getting much rest because our offense is going 3 and out all the time.

  • Offense will have to get it together in a hurry cause next opponent, Southern Miss, can put some points on the board.  See their game with Nebraska.  So our offense better be a lot more effective or else we will need to come up with some defensive scores like we did against Purdue.

  •  I see how Ohio State is playing and I think these teams play to their competition. Granted they're not as sloppy as us, they beat Indiana and NIU by a grand total of 14 points. Maybe they are the best team but you have to question their "body of work" so far. Sagarin's sheet has them #7 with the 76th rated schedule. He may well be right.

Southern Miss may finally reveal who this team is. Right now, we are 4-1 and 1-0 in conference play. If we win next Friday, we should roll through until November, where MTSU, FIU, and WKU loom large. FAU, UNT, and Charlotte are the redheaded stepchildren of the sisters of the poor. [Please reference this thread if I end up being wrong]
