  • Welcome back to Huntington old friend.  ;D No inside info but is it any coincidence he resigns the same exact day his brother starts hiring his staff?

  • Come home Mike with brother Danny.

How awesome would that be!  I bet he gets another NBA job though.

  • Lakers refused to pick up his option for 2015-2016.  Basically making him a lame duck coach with 1 season to work things out.

Suprised, he had 4 mil guaranteed contract for 2014/15 with Lakers holding option for final year. They're must have been some sort of buy out. I know MD is not going to leave that kind of dough on the table. I'm happy for him, the Laker's are a mess.

  • Is this real life...

MD could go from NBA head Coach to CUSA assistant. Crazier things have happened, but that seems like such a stretch, yet still possible.

  • If you listen to the presser of Dans hiring he did say that if you get one Dantoni you get them all.  He also said Mike will be around.

  • Hamrick said during the press conference that it didn't matter which one got the job, they were coming with each other. I've been expecting this since then.

  • I've been wondering the same thing for the same reason Crawdad.

  • I try to keep it classy, but if this happens & Mike D joins the staff, then Jeff Goodman, Gary Parrish, & the rest of the national media that crapped on The Herd can ThunderSuck it.

Say you've been the head coach & had to deal with all the non-coaching, non-teaching aspects of being a HC you've had to put up with. But you still have an itch to teach basketball without being the guy who has to answer to one of the decisions you made during the course of the game. It might make sense.

If Mark Jackson goes from the Warriors, though, I'd expect that Mike would be their top choice as their personnel fits his philosophy to a tee.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

  • Would be a dream come true to see both Dan and Mike together on the sidelines for the Herd. Not expecting it to happen but at least its now a possibility.

  • I'd slow down, boys. There's a whole lot of reason to think that MD's going to have a few other options on the table, at least at the pro level.

My view....Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish can stick it regardless if Mike D. joins the staff. Heck with those guys. If they really knew anything about basketball they would be on the sidelines coaching the game and making the big dollars.
