Perspective can sometimes be elusive. From 1996 through 2003, White worked as a Division I coach at Marshall, where coaching the Thundering Herd, fulfilling the job’s time-consuming external demands and making the daily Charleston-to-Huntington commute left little opportunity to talk basketball with his son or teach him the game’s fundamentals or help with his nightly homework, as he often does these days.

  • Greg was really trashed by many on these boards throughout his coaching career (sometimes justifiably) but there's no question he is one heckuva great guy and a true Son of Marshall. Continued good luck to him.

  • I was always a big supporter of GW.  It was time for him to go and I was glad to see him leave.  With that being said, he did a lot for MU basketball and he still does support MU basketball.  I have read a few times he still gives plenty of money to the athletic dept.  I am glad to see his success at UC and reading how he has his personal life in order is great.  No matter what happened during his tenure at MU, he will always have positive words to say about MU.

    GO HERD!!!!

  • I agree MUWashU. I was very critical of him as a coach, but there is no question that he is a great son of Marshall..............
