  • No way Dan is signing off on playing multiple power conference schools in a regular season even on a neutral court.

  • if it's the exact same facility/room then they are out of their mind.   intimate for the well connected doesn't sound like the majority of Herd fans to me.  if cramped, claustrophobic and poorly lit is their idea of a good venue, then so be it 💩

that said, at least the teams so far are diverse

  • Given the other three schools reside in power conferences, I can't see Marshall being added as the 4th school, unless they are to be the "host" school.  I also agree that if DD is brought back next season for a redemption tour, he will not want to play in this tournament.

  • Highly doubt we'd be invited.

But if we were, and we turned down the chance to play 2 power schools in our backyard just to soften up our dinosaur's schedule, that would be beyond pathetic.

WVU or Va Tech were my first thoughts, but with UCF representing the Big XII and Pitt representing the ACC, it seems more likely it will be an SEC or Big East team to round out the field.

They are in the same conference as UCF and typically already play Pitt OOC yearly. So doubt it is them. I'm going with Tennessee or just a school from SEC

Only way we are in that tournament and Dan signs off on a tournament like this if the opponents were:
    Wisconsin at La Crosse
    Pittsburgh at Johnstown
    UCF at Ocala

  • I agree with the most of you, our team is so bad we don't need to get embarrassed (remember the UK game 118-82). Plus Dan wants nothing to do with playing a good team, he didn't even want to play wvu in Charleston. We are not relevant in college basketball at this time.

ESPN may pick up this tournament and it might be a higher profile event in the future? Maybe that is why they had MU test it out before they went for higher profile programs.

  • An outlier here, I think this tourney is hand made for MU.  Gives us a chance to play top competition in a small venue where we'd have the majority of the fan support, almost like a home game against great opponents IMHO.

  • Are they playing in that same ballroom? If so I'm shocked Wisconsin and Pitt would play in that tiny place.

They'll play for the right pay.

Wait till they see how slow Big Jim is to pay.

If Danny does touch it we will get embarrassed.

  • Danny will agree to play on ONE condition only:  that his high-powered, "well-coached" HERD team play the Greenbrier East HS girls squad coached by the GOV.!!  And ONLY the GE GIRLS team!!
