  • Against D1 opponents. And all those were avg midmajor opponents except one and it was Kentucky. And that was a record breaking night for Kentucky embarrassing us. So the question is can Danny even keep all his players that are expected back? Are they also getting tired of this train wreck? Most would have a hard time finding another school to take them. But Martin, Obinna and maybe Conner and Fricks could possibly find a low major home. Also wonder if Danny will lower his standards when it comes to character a little and try and bring in some actual ballers? I expect he knows his time is about up and he may be ready to try anything at this point.

  • I like the fact that DD brings in good kids with spotless records but doggone it let's get some of those kids that can PLAY round ball.  Their has to be some of those types but Danny seems not want to put forth the effort.

  • I'd like to see some Players with an attitude and swagger that have game.  This choir boy  recruiting is for the church league.  DD might excel coaching the church league.

This is where I stand. We have way too many choir boy types. We don't have enough ballers. App State isn't great. But they won because when the chips were on the line last night, the ballers took over.

There is a reason we are 45-46 against Division 1 opponents over the course of the past three seasons. We aren't trending in the right direction as a basketball program.

  • Dan could end his tenure under .500 if he is allowed to stay and doesn't change his recruiting habits.

  • In today's NIL/portal landscape, it might be wise to just shut the program down.

We are asking to compete in the Sun Belt (against our peer schools), not winning the Final 4.

Basketball is much easier to build a team than football. It only takes 3-4 really good players to have a good team. If Huff can bring in 4 stars from the portal like he did this year and even other years then why can't basketball? You hire the right guy and he will find players. Like someone said. Arkansas State hired Alabamas assistant and he brought in some nice players. Now they may be the hottest team in the SB. It's harder to keep players but it's also easier to find them with a recruiter that knows the landscape. Danny simply has no clue what he is doing and relies totally on his assistants. And even then he shoots down most of their suggestions. Hire a young and energetic recruiter and watch what happens.

    100% agree

We had a former men's basketball player interrupt an important soccer match by throwing soccer balls onto field multiple times during live action so let's not make it out that every recruit DD has is squeaky clean. Doesn't matter anyway as the comments about character is an insult to all the great student athletes that compete at Marshall.  Grassie has no problem attracting quality people nor does Coach Kim or any other of our more successful programs.  The players are out there in abundance if you know what you are looking for and can sell your program. 10 years on and the staff can't recruit the shooters required to play in his system or defenders or rebounders. And look at how mentally tough the women's BB team is in year one. As stated, just lazy, shortsighted, and arrogant recruiting and scheduling.

As the saying goes, "the only place where success come before work is in the dictionary".

I don't really buy what Huff is selling on many things either but at least he seems to take his job seriously and gets after it every day. Shouldn't that be the minimum ask of all of our coaches/staff?

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS
