Looks like the Herd may have to face one of its former players next year as Roshala Scott has committed to play for JMU.   As the article points out, she has played 5 years, but is expected to get a medical hardship exemption that will allow her another year.

She said Marshall's new style of play wasn't a "good fit."  I have to believe there were other issues that also made the fit not so good, based on Coach Caldwell's comments (or actually a lack of comments) earlier in the year.

Best wishes to her (except when she plays Marshall, of course).

  • Way more than likely there were issues beyond the court.
However, Ro Scott isn't necessarily wrong about Coach Kim's style of play and her skill set.

Medical can go beyond physical (mental, emotional etc). No inside info, just a hunch that might be in play here. She has talent no doubt. She scored 31 vs G Mason and was leading team in scoring, although her last game she was 0-8 vs Morehead. Really don't like her going to a primary conf rival but glad MU is taking the high road.

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • They were better without the distraction of someone who didn't buy into the system.  Did the right thing letting her finish out the year and finding her a new home.  Some coaches, whose players didn't fit the system, would have paid for their grad school and gave them front row seats to every game for 6 years.

  • As I recall, JMU's women's team has a few key senior players, and a grad senior or two who finish after this season.  Similar to their men's program, again IIRC.
