Its a new day men, and not in a good way. I doubt we'll ever come close to seeing teams with the quality we had in the Pruett days, just hard to sustain. And not confident men's b'ball will ever be above "average". Money is killing everything.
I wonder about all these kids chasing the dream and money. When they get in real life and jobs, will the they quit and move on at the first sign of difficulty, or if the boss looks at them wrong?
Agree, very hard for mid level schools to have sustained success. Especially those who want to try and be successful in multiple sports at the D1 level. Your hope is you get a very good team every 3-4 years and that is best case scenario. Schools that aren't funding every sport for division 1 have better chance for sustained success in one sport like basketball. Football to me will be harder to sustain success in than basketball but basketball seems tough enough as it is. I think we all need to have some realistic expectations.
