New Baroness, not exactly poppy IMO, but much more accessible than anything they have ever done.

For some reason I've never been able to get into Baroness, although I've heard really good things.  And they always seemed to get mentioned along side Mastodon.

Exanimate, if you like Nachtmystium you might like Lord Mantis (they share 2 members).  However, LM is pretty sick and not for normal folks  :-*  Nachtmystium is a different band but I really dig their track Every Last Drop.

And you can't forget the new YOB (featuring Scott Kelly from Neurosis):

Yeah, I dig Lord Mantis. You heard Chrome Waves? Good stuff with current and ex-members of Nachtmystium, The Atlas Moth and The Gates of Slumber.

Gonna try to go see them in Columbus.

I've heard the name and gave them quick listen.  Pretty interesting stuff.  The song Blackbird is pretty rocking.

I see that a lot, too. I guess because they're both from Georgia. Kylesa and Black Tusk get thrown in there as well. Again, because they're from Georgia (and some of them have beards).

I like all of Baroness' stuff. Blue Record is my favorite by them and "A Horse Called Golgotha" Is one of my favorite songs.
