  • Didn't see anything about Vinson being in the portal...he's from Northern Kentucky and they are building the program around him.  Let us know where you saw him in the portal...if we contact him that's a recruiting violation if he's not in portal.

    Sam Vinson?

    he's in.  search him here.

  • I would also note that the big 6'8" 235 pounder from LA Monroe that had a career day against us with 21 points & 15 rebounds just entered the portal.

This was the first game where teams really started attacking our post players in a different manner. He went right into the chest of our bigs.

Our Bigs have "CHESTS"?  Who Knew??

    Bust Knew.

    Bust Knews everything.

Even when he says the exact opposite of what he said six months ago, he knows more than anyone else..

I'd have thought you understood this as many times as he has tried to show you he knows more than you.

  • You know very well that he will be brought on slowly working behind Andrew to prepare for the 24-25 season.
Danny has made no secret of that.

For those that don't know this is the recruit we landed to replace Kinsey lmao

    10-15 wins and DD "retired"

  • What is Braun's role? We can't keep bringing guys that can't play as freshmen.

    ...or as sophomores...or as juniors...

He was NOT ever intended to replace Kinsey. He simply got the scholarship that Taevion had.

Kinsey was a 3, this kid is a PG or possibly a 2.

If the season were to start today, Jacob would play the 3 instead of out of position at the 4

  • Are schools, MU for instance, able, allowed, etc., to reach out, contact, if you will, players at other schools BEFORE they actually enter or declare that they are entering, the PORTAL?  Is such contact allowed, legal under current NCAA rules, etc.?  We can all debate the issue of whether such action is ethical, or not.

No, there is to be no contact until a player is in the portal.
Obviously that rule is broken often. One of our players was offered cash and a car from one school and others were in contact with him

Anyone hear Dan interested in this guy.
We have been following him for more than a month. We hoped he would enter.  I feel sure we have made contact by now

Disaster plan based on what I saw this year

DD's system is guard dependent and guard friendly and we have two guards on the roster who can play

Only one can penetrate.......I'm sure we will have a great season lol

    Go Herd.

  • Question about on3 and NIL value

there are, say, 6 players listed at a number value of 94.00, rated at 4 stars and some have an NIL value listed but some don't.  who sets these numbers, ratings and values?

by the way, Paveletzke is rated 91.00, 4 star but no NIL listing.  sad to say, but unless we have a boatload of money or some kind of connection i see no way we get these overall, higher rated/high $ value players.

  • We aren?t going to get other mid-major all conference players or those that averaged 15 plus in the portal. Power 5 will swallow those up. We need to get a kid that didn?t work out for whatever reason. DD will have to be good at evaluating talent and find some that slipped through the cracks (do not have faith he can)

Yes but we can grab 2 D-2 guards that can improve the team

    Earth to DD

Your guard based system only has one guard that can penetrate (Taylor)

In the day in age of the portal and NIL, that has all but killed us taking NQ.

Huff in one of the signing day interviews talked about it makes no sense of a school like Marshall to bring in a NQ, gets their grades up, then they can transfer to another school without any penalty now (and the person can build up credentials and just transfer them out) and never playing a down here.

  • Interesting new portal entry that is garnering a lot of interest from small D1s and mid-majors:

Mason Walters (6'9" / 225 pounds) was NAIA national player of the year. He averaged 26.6 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 107 assists for the season along with 63 block shots. He made 163 out of 197 free throws for a 82%. He can shoot the three when needed as well.

  • We need at least 1, maybe 2 more guards added to this roster to have a chance.   Right now, only 1 guy can create his own shot, and he had multiple games where he took 20+ shots.   This is a 10-12 win team without adding a couple guards who can put it in the basket.

  • Our assistants have been reaching out to players in the portal according to social media accounts. Here are some players we have contacted recently:

Tyeree Bryan is a 6'6" forward from Charleston Southern who averaged 10.5 ppg / 5.5 rpg

Tedrick Wilcox from St. Francis is a 6'6" forward who average 11.3 ppg

Enoch Cheeks from Robert Morris averaged 15.4 ppg / 3.5 apg / 4.4 rpg

Briggs McClain is a guard from Hartford that averaged 14.4 ppg.

Just my opinion, but we need some scholarship slots to open up in the worst way.

We need 2. But it's hard to get them if you aren't willing to open up a spot.
