Jaden House who averaged 17.3 ppg and 2.3 apg at High Point this past season has been contacted by Marshall's basketball program. We reached out the same day that House entered the portal. He is a 6'4" guard from Richmond, VA.

Was just seeing that, but we have Taylor and Curfman to shoot 3s. If this guy can play PG and score by driving to the basket then that would be great. His stats show year over year growth. Highlights are highlights but they appear to show him finishing in traffic. He looks quick too.

Need more guards. Need 2 guards like this and an inside guy that knows how to score and aggressive around the basket. Instead of getting it two feet from the basket and throwing it back out, flush it!!!

We need a true point guard dog gone it. You see how it cost us this year.  We couldn't stop the other teams point guards from dribble driving and we couldn't stop the other teams from shooting the three.  If Danny can't see this then I just throw my arms up in the air.  Our guards could do neither this year.

Why does Danny over recruit the same position?  This guy shoots less than 30% from 3 and is not a point guard.  We need a tougher inside presence and a true point guard.

Honestly, he has a hard time understanding what he needs. In his mind Andrew is a true PG when he is not. He is a shooting guard. He also doesn't see he needs a tough scrappy kid around the basket. Someone that can get the ball inside 6-7 feet and finish. That or send Micah and Oak to a big man camp so someone can teach them.

When Danny became coach and knowing what type of system he wanted to run, I thought he would fill the roster full of 6'2 to 6'6 players who could shoot the lights out and he would have trouble attracting bigs.  But it has been the opposite.  He's filled the roster with kids 6'8 or taller that have the ability to shoot the three, but aren't proficient at doing it.

It is a head scratcher for sure. When Dusty May learned Dannys system, he employees 4 guards from 6'4"-6'0. They all handle penetrate and shoot it. He got a 7' transfer and they are 31-3. He knew what the system needs and got it. I would have thought Danny would have guards all over his roster. But instead a bunch of bigs that can't shoot and half of them set the bench.

Not a portal player but  Charleston GW 6'7"Ben Nicol committed to Ohio U in the summer of 2022. Did we even recruit him? He also had offers from Toledo; Akron and a couple of other schools when he committed prior to senior season.

IMHO, most kids are entering the portal "after" deciding to move from recruiting efforts from their destination school.  They get contacted, NIL educated and inspired, committed to, then they enter the portal.

after looking at 2022 season %s across the board, including FTs, he (Jaden House) is probably not what we need.  maybe if he's a great ball handler and defender.  then again, if he's a slasher to the hoop, then you'd think his FG% would be better.  if he's taking a boatload of attempts to get 17 PTs a game that's not good either.  i didn't look at any film.  maybe the staff's choices will prove my gut instincts wrong about this player and Nutter- after all, i wasn't sure about Taylor but he turned out good.

Hey, we've got enough players already who are willing to jack it up from distance . . . with little accuracy!  If he can slash and finish at the goal, can perhaps help fill the void left by TK!!
