  • We were fortunate enough to see this band open for Eric Church in Charleston, SC. It took one song, and I knew they were gonna be good!

"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "

  • A sad ending to his life, but he left us with his entertaining songs. He's with Clayton Delaney now up in heaven.

  • We are in the car a lot, and our stations rotate between the 60 and 70s, classic vinyl and country; which really isn't anymore.  While in the service in the late sixties, I'd go drive around in may car in Mannheim, Germany at 4:30 every day I could to listen to the only half hour of country on the armed forces radio. Occasionally had the only other person in our billets that liked country join me.

Today, I'll go with the Doors, Stones, EW&F, Chicago, BS&T, Chris Stapleton, CCR, and the ever trustworthy Jimmy Buffett (rip).  I also like(d) Marshall Tucker Band.

  • Saw Little Richard in 1968 in a US High School gym with a couple hundred other GIs, all in fatigues.  He sang his song "Shake a Hand" on his last song, left the stage and came down and shook the hand of everyone of us, sunk the "shake a hand" the whole time.  I will never forget that, I didn't really appreciate his music per se, but it was a fantastic tribute from him to us soldiers.
