When Marshall's players came out for day one of camp, there was only one speed - NASCAR - even though the team was only in helmets at that point.

"I bet you, we put in between 30 and 40 percent of the offense on day one," offensive coordinator Bill Legg said. "Then, we added some on day two and a little bit more (Saturday)."

So, with an extra week, why the sudden urge to throw everything at the team - especially, the newcomers - at once?

It seems a bit odd on the surface, but it's all part of a bigger plan.

"We tried to create a shock factor," Legg said. "We tried to create some adversity for them as a mental task on toughness. I told them, when in doubt, just play hard until the whistle and we'll figure it out."

The defense looks like it could have some good personnel.  Heater seems capable as a DC.

Like what I hearing about Chase Litton, and the offense seems to have some weapons.  But, until proven otherwise still have no confidence in Legg as OC, or Doc as a strategic thinking HC.

Almost too easy to take shots at our offense when it's so true.

Of course taking shots at those taking such shots is purely sour grapes since you all just happened to beat me to the punch line. ;D

I'm not getting caught up in the hype again by the Herald Dispatch. Nothing matters except wins and losses. I'm sure other teams are just as excited about their new players, transfers, etc.... Last year we heard Doc say they had all the pieces and the Herald Dispatch does what they do every year. I want to see if we are better than the worst team we have put on the field in 30 years (that is what last years team was). We aren't going to know if this team handles adversity better until adversity happens. Does this team have true leadership? We don't know yet.
