We talked about trying to flex our political muscle with our legislators to get equal funding for Marshall University vs. West Virginia University.

I went to www.change.org and created a very basic petition that would be nice to have "signed" by as many people possible before it's refined and presented to the appropriate parties.

PLEASE SIGN IT AND INVITE FRIENDS THAT WILL SIGN.

Let's set a goal as to the number of people we can have sign it by the end of Thanksgiving week. If we are claiming to HAVE power, we need to SHOW power.

How many people do you think we can have sign it by November 27th, 2011?

Mods, if you feel like the cause is worthy, feel free to "sticky" this up top and we can start another thread and bump it to direct people to it.

mafia... I accidentally signed it twice because I was not logged into facebook the first time and wanted it to show up on my feed. Do you have the ability to delete my first signature?

Mafia, I dunno if you frequent the cusabbs site, but some posters over there are willing to help fellow conference members. You may get some signatures, you may not get any. I know I see a lot of Herd members over there that I don't recognize the handles of, maybe get some new blood on it. Worth a shot.

***GUYS, PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS***

If you don't live in West Virginia, please go back to the petition and make a "comment". In the comment, if you have family that still lives here and votes here, make sure you put that in there --- if you don't have family here, please give a short narrative on why you feel loyalty to MU (ie Grad, Parent of Grad, etc.)

I just received an email from Change.org telling me that our petition is the 9th most viewed new petition since Midnight last night. They gave me some suggestions on how to bring this to the attention of legislators or decision makers.

PLEASE KEEP IT MOVING --- would love for it to go "viral". Like W0lf said a few weeks ago when the idea for this petition was hatched, if we are going to have a voice, we have to use it...and scream LOUDLY!!!!

We are at 130 right now and the petition has been "viewed" 525 times!

Signed and shared! UH is fighting a like fight in Texas, so this issue is near to my heart. Plus Dad was born in WV and would want more funding opportunities to reach more students.
