  • He was  insightful, thoughtful, and funny  and this is just from reading his posts. He always seemed to respond when I was a new poster, wish I could have met him.  Rest In Peace my friend.  Prayers for his family.

What do you call a place where the coaches are drunks, the players pistol whip local citizens and the fans mug and rob expecting mothers ? You call it - THE FLAGSHIP PROGRAM IN THE STATE OF WV!!! Ollie Luck AD

  • Geez... sucker punch to the gut.  :'(

KD... always a calm, level-headed spirit... I just finished reading the News-Sentinel article, but we would all know that he was most proud of his work along the Fairfield Stadium sidelines.

Tattoo or pdunn... any funeral arrangements info you can pass along??? I don't know that I can get away, but I'm sure going to make an effort. (Tattoo, are you even in K-ville anymore?... I thought I'd read that you're back in WV...???)

  • Wolf et al... we should do a Big Green contribution in KD's honor, don't you think? How do we organize that?

I feel so sad about this. It's been about 8 years since all of us were together... it's weird how deeply this green blood bonds us even now.

  • Photo By was a wonderful guy, a true herd friend.  A couple of years ago when I was in Knoxville on a game day he invited me and my son to his home to watch a game. He was so gracious and nice.  I pray for his family

  • I would like to say he was a class act, there was no act about him, he was just class. He posted as we all should. Prayers for family and friends.

Like many of you - I'm heartbroken.  KD was a very smart and creative man.  More importantly, he was a wonderful person - kind; thoughtful; genuine.

I'm going to miss my friend.

    God speed, KD.

  • The latest I have heard is that our friend is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held in Knoxville on Saturday. There will also be a memorial service Monday, 7:00 at the First Baptist Church in his hometown of Hurricane, WV.
Could we do a Photo/journalism scholarship at MU?

  • Local Knoxville Service information for KD: 10 a.m. Sat. 11/17 at Fellowship Church 8000 Middlebrook Pike Knoxville, TN 37909.

The obituary has not run in the Knoxville paper yet.
"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "

I've very rarely felt this way about the passing someone I've never met (my regret).
No offense to anyone else, but he is (was - man that's hard to say) one of the big reasons I check this board every day.  I know I don't post much, and most of it is useless, but I want to send my sincerest condolences to all of you who knew him well.  I dislike posting "me too" comments, but this I think is ok.

No idea what to say anymore... That South Park avatar is indelibly linked in my mind with reading about the Herd.
