Check out Amazon Smile. I do most of my shopping on Amazon and use the Prime option to save a bundle on shipping, etc. I signed up for Amazon Smile and chose the Marshall University Big Green Foundation as my benefactor. Now 0.5% of all my purchases go to the Big Green automatically.

I don't know because I have been doing this for at least 6 months, told Teddy Klumper about it 3-4 months ago. Finally got them to retweet something about it a month ago.

Signed up as well. Just wish I had known earlier
-
Had no clue about this.
Just added it to my account, my wife's account and mom's account.

Got a call from the Big Green today. They finally got their first disbursement from Amazon Smile. This is a service you can sign up to through Amazon.com whereby .5% of all your purchases goes to the beneficiary of your choice (see sticky above). It has taken a while for everything to get put in place (paperwork, authorizations, etc.) but it is finally paying off.
$70...doesn't seem like much, but that is more than the minimum to join ($50) and certainly more than all those who do not give. Basically it's a new member. The impact seems bigger when you realize that at .5%, that $70 equals $14,000 worth of purchases which means people are signed up and it is working.
Please use this service, especially if you do not give directly. If not to the Big Green then take advantage and give to another charity of your choice.

Just signed up as well. Thanks for the heads up IM4DHERD

Just signed up. It just adds that right onto your prime acct. pretty easy

I've been signed up for a couple of years now. An easy way to donate in addition to what I already give.
-
I made a purchase today for my University...proud to say...It’s all about the green...

I just placed an order for some woodworking stuff I "needed". You can see the total impact to the BG, so far it's $1,263. Almost $11 from me so far.
Doesn't sound like much, but just think it every person who attends a game (or is enrolled at Marshall) signed up for this. On average, Prime customers spend $1,500 a year on Amazon while non Prime people spend $700. So the average person spends about $1,000 a year on Amazon. If you could get 20,000 people to buy through Smile that would be $100,000 a year. That sounds like a lot of people, but if every die-hard Marshall fan signed up and just got their extended family members to sign up, that number is very obtainable.
Now, to take it a step further, get businesses that buy through Amazon to sign up.

A week never goes by that I don't use Amazon at least once and I use the Smile link every time. It adds up for sure.
-
Just bought two books last week, could have generated MU 10 cents. Sorry I didn't know.

Didn't know? This thing has been stickied for years, in bold, at the top of the page, and you're here every day.
Seriously though, 10 cents doesn't sound like anything, and it's not, but a lot of people throwing in 10 cents, several times a year, makes a difference.

I was told that last year this alone contributed a bit over $500 to the Big Green. An awesome thing that literally costs you nothing more than you would have already spent.
-
I got an email stating my donation was $98 dollars for the quarter.

Received today (3/8/21) via email -

$3034.81 = 50 lowest level memberships for one year. I served as a BG Chapter Rep and worked hard to increase membership in the Big Green, as have and do other on this board. We'd dream of adding 50 members.
If you have not yet done so, PLEASE sign up for Amazon Smile and add The Big Green as your charity of choice. You can make a difference.

I can't believe I never saw this until this year. After finally seeing it I immediately got on Amazon Smile to support the Big Green by my purchasing. Just another good reason to do more purchasing ;)
-
I have done this for about four years and they give me the amount I give to Big Green every year. I buy too much on Amazon.

Signed up today

It would be very helpful to post a link or the specific name or something easier as I cannot find it on Amazon. Amazon smile is easy to find donating specifically to the Big Green is not.

On the phone app go to settings then Amazon smile. Activate it then search for Big Green Scholarship and we will pop up.

Thanks by the way.
I've done that from my app several times.Big Green won't come up in the search.
I tried again from settings ( settings wasn't easy to find , I don't guess I've ever gone there ) and the search did show Big Green and I'm finally signed up.

Have been signed up for about 5 years now.

Have done this for years.

If you order off your phone app, make sure it's still active. They boot you out on mobile once a year and make you reactivate. It's not a fully set it and forget it thing. That's not a problem on the desktop website though.
In general if you turn this on via the website then you have to also activate on you phone. It won't automatically do it. I assume Amazon knows more purchases take place on mobile and it's their way of trying to save a buck.

I saw yesterday where Amazon is phasing out the Amazon Smile program. It's going to hurt a lot of smaller non-profits.
