  • This kid would have us undefeated right now. That?s a fact. Still can?t believe we didn?t offer him.

With that said, we should go after a top D2 or possibly even FCS level quarterback this off season.

He didn't have a shot at a D1 school or at a transfer to a D1 school, but the NFL wants him? He might have helped us since we have NO quarterback, but he isn't going to NFL.  Maybe if he was top FCS.  He chose to stay at Shepherd because he had no choice but to stay at Shepherd.

There are nfl scouts at shepherd.  He set parameters for transferring.  That?s why he didn?t.  WKU qb is D2.  I?ll give you all the skinny on Bagent soon.

He could have gone to Maryland. He had an offer.

He did have an offer, but it was with full knowledge that it would be a backup role this season with a chance to start next season. He likely would be starting right now since Maryland's quarterback got hurt and is out for a few games. But he wasn't beating out Taulia Tagovailoa this season.

  • Here is the skinny on Bagent

Three scouts from NFL teams show up at practice almost daily.
He is projected as a mid-round draft pick.
He received an offer from Maryland.

  • Time will tell if the kid plays on Sunday. I do find it interesting that he didn't receive must interest from the power schools. Maryland isn't exactly a major player in college football.

Since he is not playing for or against The Herd, shouldn't this thread be in The Tavern?

  • Two things:
-Not all great college QBs are highly recruited. A recent example is Baker Mayfield. Don't get wrong, the Browns taking him 1st overal was, well, Brownsian. But he was a great CFB QB. There were a few examples who played for the Herd if anybody remembers when Marshall had actual QBs.

-While there are lower level QBs who would be successful or even great at the G5 or P5 levels, the speed & size of the defenses they face are not near the same...especially between D-2 & FBS.

We needed to cover our basketball out of conference schedule...joking Bust as I think we will win the SBC after reading articles on the other teams.

  • If you haven?t watched him in person, at least take the time to watch his film. He would easily be the best QB on our team right now.

Kid is and has been a really good QB.  He would be without a doubt the best QB on our team (based on who we have seen).
