Oliver Semmle gets first MLS win

    • I came across this while looking to see how Semmle was doing.

    Once their primary GK got healthy Semmle was the backup. But last Saturday they were missing 8 players and six starters due to intl duty so Semmle got the MLS start at Portland. Portland has one of better offensive squads in MLS. Semmle had six saves in a 3-1 win for his first MLS victory. Not sure if he is in goal tonight. Philly Union paid $116,000 for rights to Semmle from Louisville FC in January.

    • I'm guessing Blake is back now that Nations League is over, but it sounds like Semmle is making a name for himself with his chances so far.

    • Semmle did not start tonight -- Blake did -- but he subbed for Blake and played the last 20 minutes.  Looks like he got 2 saves.

    He has started 3 matches--one win and two draws--plus is sub time tonight.
