I plan on going to this game against the Buckeyes if can financially be able to do so(Fingers crossed). Anyone else planning on going? On the face of it, will be a tough afternoon for the Herd to say the least haha, but will be a cool road trip never the less to see the boys play at Ohio Stadium.

Whatever you do ? avoid the seating area under the upper deck

Should be against the law to seat people back in there

If we have a QB we will be fine. What 2 Sunbelt teams?  For the top G5 conference?

Not according to Coach Huff, this past Sunday evening.

I like his positivity, but I just don't foresee us winning the conference. That's not being pessimistic(Which I am prone to do) but reality. I just think we have too many holes overall and will have to depend on a lot of luck to make that happen. Could we finish 6-6 or maybe even 7-5 and make a bowl game? Maybe, but wouldn't want to gamble on any more than that.

We have been passed. If we go 6-6 I will be shocked. Just too many questions.

We'll see Charlie. I wouldn't book tickets to the Access Bowl just yet. Three out of the last four games this season are on the road. And 7 out of the last 9 games have been losses.

I heard him say it himself, Huff said they are working to be poised to be the G5 rep in the playoffs this year.  No joke, I about fell over. He was confident and straight faced; no BSing.  He and Spears clearly feel that the SBC is the top of the heap in G5, and maybe even ahead of one P5 now (this year).  This is great news, sure hope his heart and words aren't too far ahead of this team's capabilities.  He did make it clear that the talent on the team can do it if they can stay within the realms of reasonable healthiness; real minimal injuries.  I took this to mean that our second string guys couldn't get us there, but with their help, the first string can.

Honestly, I'd much rather play VPI and ECU over those yankees in morganhole.

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad thing. Always a good game against the Pirates(My brother and one of his best friends are alumni) and would make sense to start playing them again. VA Tech does as well(As this season will hopefully show).

I know travel costs being what they are not easy to schedule games to far across the national landscape if you will, but hellfire even say home and home with a good program like Utah State or say Boise State would be cool and be of a good, competitive standard.

HerdFans / Re: Recruiting for Basketball
« Last post by Sir Herd on Today at 08:00:41 PM »
If HERD is going to go places in basketball, SBC and postseason wise, going to have to beat out comparable teams, SBC, MAC, CUSA, and perhaps higher, enough times in recruiting battles to get where it, and its fans, want to go.  Beating out one legit team, like SO Con perennial power Chattanooga, and a bunch of "Who Dat" schools for a recruit isn't going to be enough, IMO!!

I think that's easier said than done. The Herd are on a similar level with a lot of other mid major schools as far as basketball and really any sport when it comes to getting decent recruits. Yes success will help with that, but in todays college landscape there is the NIL aspects of it and kids coming out off High School and/or the transfer portal want to win yes but also will go with who gives them the most money, that's just the reality of it.

We just need to string together a few winning seasons in a row, make any kind of postseason tbh even if just the NIT, and then build from there.

Not impossible for us to creep up to the top of the SBC, not exactly a basketball powerhouse overall, but will take time.
