Little guys get step up in BCS

Commissioners for MAC, Sun Belt say college football system getting all members more involved

Although he credited the new casual look he was sporting to getting married a couple of years ago and becoming a father two months ago, Mid-American Conference commissioner Rick Chryst might also add a couple of other contributing factors if pressed on the issue.

Those would be leading a league that placed five teams in bowl games last season, and the results of last week's meeting in Phoenix with other commissioners from across the country in which the Bowl Championship Series was opened to smaller conferences beginning in 2007.
