    • Sorry, this post is in poor taste. It only took Kim one year to do what it took Danny 5. I doubt Kim will allow the women to sink to the lows our men's program has.
    Great season. They can take this, learn from it and move forward.

    And Kim shakes the hand of the coaches and players, doesn't walk away with her tail tucked between her legs like some coaches

    South Carolina beat Presbyterian today 91-39.

    Please, it is a different situation. Kim took over a team and won the conference in her first year. The future looks bright for Marshall WB. The future for Marshall MB with Dan doesn't look nearly as good. Dan been at Marshall for 10 years and only has one trip to post season 10% success versus 100% for Kim. Dan deserves the bashing, Kim not so much.  At least Kim's team knows how to play defense.

    Your post is so typical of Dan and his Danettes. You are just jealous of Kim.

    • Kim won both the regular season and tournament championship.  Danny has never done that in 11 years.

    • No perspective in the initial post. None! One has to be completely dense to post this.

    Kim took over a team that had middle-of-the-conference talent. This was talent that opposing coaches thought would finish 9th. She had her leading scorer & top returning player leave the program after 6 games. She goes on to coach the team to a 17-1 conference record, beat a SEC team, won the regular season title and won the conference tournament title. There is not one fan on here to begin the year that would not have taken that.

    They were overmatched today in year one of HC Kim Caldwell. VT was a Final Four program. They have quality talent and were at home where they rarely lose. It stinks to watch that today. But it happens and I feel HC Caldwell will learn from this on the recruiting front.....unlike another coach who never learns.

    Dan lost to the likes of Coastal Carolina, Miami of Ohio, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion. Simply put.....Dan underachieved and Kim overachieved. There is no comparison to the two seasons.

    • If I could be granted just one wish in my entire existence it would be that people would not conflate our Men's and Women's basketball programs. Ever. They've always been different sports and different teams. I think it's great that our women's team has become worth being a topic of conversation. It's been an unbelievably exciting year and for the first time ever for me, I'm excited about watching more women's basketball next year. I can leave it there and not bring that other team into the conversation.

    Did you not notice the differences in the players.  It was glaring to me.  Elite players in stature vs smaller good players.

    • The success of Coach Kim's system this past season took adavantage of the opponents' teams lacking basic ball handling fundamentals in positions one through five. She smartly finds a profit in the margins.

    The Va Tech team is pretty solid in individual fundamentals and is big. Unless the girls shoot 50% from three, there was no chance.

    • We needed to shot real well right at the start.  Didn?t happen, but sure doesn?t take away from a great year.  Thanks to coach and the young ladies that provided some excitement for Herd fans.  Start getting ready for next year.

    • Great season for the women.  I enjoyed watching them. They beat a major conference team (something the men have done with the current staff), won regular season and tournament championship making the NCAA tournament.  Coach Kim needs to get some size to go along with guard play and look out. Va Tech size was a killer today. The difference between the two teams was crazy.  Nothing to be ashamed of for sure. I look forward to next season.
