  • Why people buy season tickets to watch Marshall Basketball is one of the great mysteries of the universe IMO

I think older fans simply attend cause they have ALWAYS attended

It is no longer entertaining in the least

  • Georgetown also fired Patrick Ewing a couple of years ago and St. John's also parted ways with Chris Mullen.  There are no players more legendary at those schools.

I understand what you are saying, the problem is they will move the money around as they wish. I received my renewal in the mail, I don't know that I can continue to contribute ,have been giving for fifty plus years.  The thought I am contributing to DD's salary may be than I can tolerate at the moment. We will see.

There is a specific booster club for soccer

That's where my $$$ is going

Not into the general Big Green fund

Great. Does the same thing exist for women's basketball?

  • Dump Dan and hire Juwan.  He is a solid coach.

  • It's a shame that Michigan can fire a legend after 5 years. Georgetown fire Ewing and St Johns can Fire Mullins but we can't even get a statement from our leadership after a disastrous season.

  • Apparently there were also issues about the workplace environment that he fostered which probably stripped him of any grace that he may have had despite the bad W/L result.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

Patrick got fired last season. Ed Cooley, the former coach at Providence is now the HC.

  • I posted the below in an earlier post.

This "herd legend" defense for keeping Dan is not a good argument, it is just BS. Marshall has fired MU grads who were our basketball coaches Jule Rivlin (Marshall first all American basketball player) and Greg White. MU also fired football head coaches who were MU grads Herb Royer; Charlie Snyder, and Mark Snyder. While not a MU grad, Cam Henderson was forced out at the end of his career after having the football head coaching job taken away from him.

Michigan firing Howard would be similar to MU firing Mike or Russel Lee if they were the Marshall coach. Those two guys were true Marshall legends. When a coach can't win or has problems, you have to make a change no matter their connection to the school.

  • Danny's playing days at MU were over FIVE DECADES, or over a half century ago.  He played for Ellis Johnson, who was Adolf Rupp's FIRST All-American at Kentucky back in the 1920s, almost a CENTURY ago!!

Marshall's leadership, and fans, can certainly respect and honor the accomplishments of past HERD Players, Athletes, etc., without slavishly and foolishly worshiping said Players, etc.!
