No political dreamer was ever wild enough to think of breaking down the lines which separate the States and compounding the American people into one common mass.

  • Baylor had black units and won big.

Oregon has different units everyday, pretty sure its lost its motivational factor for their players at this point. You van only pull that off once or twice a year at most. We should do something commerative for the Tulsa game or the ecu game to give the players that extra push like Snyder did with the green helmets vs Houston a few years back.

  • Yea Oregon's uni's are clearly a recruiting/marketing tactic now.  I was happy to see them go down!

  • The Oregon loss, unfortunately, puts TOSU that much closer to the bcs (not national) championship...which will make December in Columbus insufferable (make that MORE insufferable)...one can then only hope for another poleaxing by the SEC...

  • Oregan and Oklahoma seem to be ESPN's love children. Glad they both went down. No one is going to beat Bama, no one.

Enough of this crazy talk, we need to the Herd to win Saturday and I am a Longhorns fan as well! ;)

  • Bama will go down.  LSU, Auburn, or Mizzou/SC will get them.

  • Stanford also had an all black uniform. Also Mr Knight has only donated to one school more than Stanford, and that is Oregon.

Their QB reminds me of ole number 7... with the exception he can run.

I dont like FSU but this season I enjoy watching their offense.

As for alternate uni's I have seen few that I really like. It seems as if everyone is trying to out do each other and the uniforms/helmets look like crap. If Marshall were to do something I would like to see something unique that looks great.

  • There is a big fascination on this board with alternative uniforms.  I'm curious......what would be the cost to the football athletic budget for a complete new black theme uniform for every player?  I'm talking new helmet, jersey, pants, black shoes (if needed), etc?

Around 65-70K for 100 helmets, jerseys and pants.

You're right.  If you started working in the 70s you should wear leisure suits for the rest of your career. If you turned 21 in the 80s you should wear your "Miami Vice" pastel blazer every time you go clubbing for the rest of your life. In you were in college in the 90s you should hold on to those Hammer pants. Nothing should ever change. Hell, I think we should honor tradition and get our leather helmets back out.

If your colors are green and white then you should wear green and white not any effing black except for trim and then keep it small.
Glad to see a team wearing team colors won.

They definitely looked great in that Clemson game!  FSU QB can play.
