  • Marshall was rated at 53 on this ranking and after our 2004 season, it is understandable why we are so low! But here is our schedule for next year:

    12 Virginia Tech .756 ACC
    31 Kansas State .636 Big 12
    47 Southern Mississippi .596 CUSA
    55 Memphis .557 CUSA
    72 Alabama-Birmingham .502 CUSA
    81 Texas-El Paso .445 CUSA
    83 Tulane .423 CUSA
    110 East Carolina .310 CUSA
    114 Southern Methodist .280 CUSA
    116 Central Florida .265 CUSA

According to this, Marshall average opponent equals a 72.1, or an UAB football team. Here are some other notable teams of somewhat interest:

26 Bowling Green State .652 MAC
    41 Miami (Ohio) .621 MAC
42 West Virginia .620 Big East
    48 Toledo .592 MAC

But with this ranking as with any we all could argue that the numbers are all wrong, and for the most part they are. But it is fun to look at such ranking to see where others see us.

  • I would rather go into  CUSA  being over looked than with a big bulleyes on our back's. We do have some shapeing up to do...   but 53rd after the past season....   not to bad.

  • I was pleasantly surprised with 53.  Look at the teams ranked below us.  53 isn't too bad considering this past season and the many players this team will need to replace.  On top of this who knows who the QB will be.  Lots of unanswered questions.

The ACC as the best conference, with the PAC-10 second?!?!?!? This guy has lost all credibility, imo.

This is why I said I hope he's way off.  CUSA is below the WAC and if you averaged ranking positions, slightly below the MAC.  53 is very respectable for Marshall but he has us a the 2nd highest ranked CUSA team after our worst record in 20 years...
