The MU Club of Cincinnati, in partnership with the Big Green Scholarship Foundation and Marshall University Alumni Association, will be hosting the “Herd Haven” tailgate reception prior to the Marshall University vs. University of Cincinnati football game on September 22nd, 2007.
The event will take place at the Gettler Soccer Stadium adjacent to Nippert Stadium and the gates will open at 4:00 p.m. EST. The tailgate reception will run up until game time, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST.
Admission to the event is $10 in advance, $12 if purchased day of game.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by Smokin’ Thunder and free with paid admission. Other beverages will be available for purchase.
Red Dawson and members of the 1971 “Young Thundering Herd” will be on hand to sign autographs and meet with fans prior to the game.
Woody Woodrum and 93.7 The Dawg will broadcast live and on location, the Marching Thunder band is scheduled to perform prior to entering the stadium, and a number of other exciting events are scheduled.
A limited edition “Almost Heaven in the Herd Haven” t-shirt will be available for purchase, and a raffle will be held for a number of unique Marshall items including a game used football from the Miami Hurricane game, an autographed “We Are Marshall” poster, and a framed Coach Snyder autographed season ticket strip. Proceeds from the “Herd Haven” tailgate event will be used to support the Big Green and the Marshall Alumni Association.
