what's that mean...........we physically matching up and definitely quicker, but the mistakes are killing us.
this is where our weak schedule hurts us too a bit, we just aren't used to playing teams with Big10 level players that are well coached............don't know how Purdue will do, but they have bigger, better players than we see most games.........and a good staff.
Coaches need to settle these guys down a bit and get them focused for the second half.
Are these B10 refs?
We were up by 10 in this game with the ball.
Well, first half, Purdue got all the breaks......2 fumbles on last two series, recovered both....... MU penalties, won every reviewed play.............if we limit the penalties, I like our chances............got to get Devon the ball more.
D needs to mix in blitzes on earlier downs. We are in this game.
We may need to see a "gelling" period for this team this year. They have talent but they need to learn to play within themselves.
Those "we'll beat them by 3 tds" predictions are kind of out the window.
never know, but these teams match up pretty well..........good college football gamewe get the ball first down by 4, could be up by three at the end of that drive, let's hopeGOT TO LIMIT the gimme first downs............we kept their drives alive.
we, obviously, will never get a call in our favor from Big 10 refs. They even overturn (never happens) themselves to help the Big 10 team.
Birdsong reminds me of Anderson at this point. I hope he develops during half time. If we lose this game we will be another G5 on the L side of a match up with a mediocre P5 team. Will Devon play a more significant role in the 2nd half. Getting the ball first is an opportunity to establish momentum. Hope we do that.
Just think, five years ago we'd have been down 35 to this team right now.
