  • Just painfully obvious that Fancher needs to sit. Especially hurt. We are going to set a record for sacks, many times it's bad blocking but he has also held the ball way too long and can't make a read on blitzes and coverage at all. My gosh man. How many games is huff willing to lose to keep Fancher at QB?

  • They needs to get Cam out before he is injured further.  He can not move laterally because of his ankle.  If not they are risking him getting seriously injured.

  • Have we run one play on their half of the field?

  • A lot of bad offensive moments:

*That screen play to Payne and the offensive lineman do a great job of blocking air. SOFT! They talk all day out there and then won't hit someone.
*Fancher is hurt. Yes, he is tough, but he is now has happy feet. He is hardly looking downfield nor looking for the check down on the blitz.
*Why not try a change of pace running back for Payne? I am not faulting Payne. He has made some nice runs. But try something different.

I just think he has to get Fancher out of there. I am not blaming him for our entire offensive woes. But he is hurt, he has happy feet and we have to try something else. The lineman are bad.

  • Our punter is our player of the game so far.  Sad.

  • Win or lose, the fact that a Herd team is being shutout at half for a home game in the third year of a program is damning.

  • Made it to halftime and are still in the game!!  Playing with an injured QB and our best RB is out!!  Huff either can't develop a competent and able back up QB or either has neither the intestinal fortitude or the BRAINS to play him!!  HERD is also being exposed in many other facets/areas of the game.  A few more offensive games like this one SHOULD guarantee that MU football FINALLY and PERMANENTLY puts Bill Legg in its rear view mirror . . . for GOOD!!!

  • Running Payne wide on sweeps is just not working!!  Why not try it with a speedy receiver in motion?

Love Payne and he has some nice runs in his career. That said, he he isn't the answer at RB for a SBC team.

  • Down 3-0 at the half.

    It's still winnable.

Wasn't Doc getting shut out by Cincy 30 or 40 to zip at halftime.

  • Winnable if we quit coaching scared.
I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne

You know Doc and Huff are not the only two living football coaches.

    What was Cole's offer list?
Maybe we just have bad coaches when it comes to recruiting.

More of a Power Back. Seems to do well. He just does not have much speed.

  • If Fancher entered the portal, no FBS program would take him at QB and perhaps no FCS schools either.

    So?
Doc's not on the sidelines now.
Huff was hired to be major upgrade from a somewhat successful coach. He might be an upgrade, but he hasn't been exactly a major upgrade.
