“Anytime you get a tailback in there who does a good job, they make that offensive line look good at times,” Marshall coach Doc Holliday said Tuesday during his weekly press conference. “Those holes don’t have to be as big and you don’t have to block as long. If you have a guy who is talented back there, they feed off each other, which is good. It didn’t surprise me when he went out there and did what he did.”

Because of that performance, Holliday is confident the run game will be more consistent.

  • It was refreshing to see King, or any of our backs for that matter, break some runs against Kent.
But the run game depends on the line opening the hole.
If I recall, D Johnson couldn't even break a run couple years back if there wasn't a hole.

  • I'm excited to see what King does against Cindy.  If I had time to blog last week, I did want to raise the question of what if King didn't stand up in the locker room at the half, would he have gotten playing time?  Similarly, why didn't he play in the first half against Kent?  Whatever the answers, I am glad he got his shot.

  • He was effective last game so we'll never see him again.

  • He looked really good against Kent, hopefully he will get carries and provide a spark in the run game again this week.

Haha. We will hear this week about how he wasn't effective at pass blocking in practice.
