  • Had hoped Herd could make conference tournament this year as a progression point.

Looking at remaining schedule makes me very skeptical.  Outside of odu, will be dogs rest of season.

Hope they prove me wrong but wouldn?t bet on it.

Game 3 yesterday was a gut punch.  Seemed to shift ourselves right into a loss

  • This coming conference series opponent Louisiana comes into the matchup red hot with the nations longest winning streak.  Gotta scratch a win out somehow..

I like the Herds base running out of this lineup with Firestone dh.

They run them smart and aggressive.

  • The mental mistakes on defense killed us yesterday. One on a groundball to Kaiser and the pitcher was late covering first and then the bunt to Kaiser when he was indecisive of where to go with the ball.
I do not see us making the conference tournament, but I am happy that we seem to have gotten better as the season has progressed.

  • Yep, Carter has a solid outing, we got a lead..  thought we had that one.   That kind of d will keep you out of post season every year.  Not sure who calls infield shifts but I think they need to chill on it a bit.

Just because you have arm bands of plays and alignments doesn?t mean you have to use them every batter.  If I recall, Playing straight up on each of plays mentioned would have made things much easier.  When your second baseman is either at short or shallow right center every other at bat, it makes play coverage at first unnecessarily difficult imo.

Who gives a crap about base running when the #3 starter and bullpen are terrible? . If Harlow does not go 6-7 innings or Blevins throws a CG this team stands little chance unless the other team has worse pitching than we do.

  • Game 3 with the team up north is today..  convinced maze made a deal at the crossroads
    As good as they?ve been.

Any way, hopefully heiner (assume hes the midweek starter again?. Don?t provide probable starter info) has  a good outing and it isn?t a Huntington bp session for them

  • I'd go with our best starter today, regardless if they've had 2-3 days rest. Leave it all on the field.

  • What a game!

First time I have ever witnessed us beating wvu in person - so satisfying! Loved the atmosphere at the Jack tonight!

  • The 1-4-5-3 double pickoff was one of the strangest plays I have ever seen and boy did it happen at the perfect time.
